Chaos in airports

If you ask me all you need here is a digital ID to solve this problem 🤔 A problem and the reaction solved by a solution 🤔

Mum and dad were flying Vancouver to Heathrow yesterday. Arrived two hours late causing them to miss connection to Newcastle. Had to wait in the airport 6 hours in the airport with no guarantee of a seat to see if people didn’t turn up for the later flight to Newcastle. Thankfully they got on in the end otherwise would be a overnight hotel. Turns out the delay from Vancouver was because one of the toilets was broken. I’m sure the passengers wouldn’t have minded queuing up a little bit for a toilet if it meant plane leaving on time

That’s what happened with us last week mate. Tell them to get a compo claim in with their airline. From what I understand, they should get something for the 2 hour delay, and something for being late to their final destination as well. That’s what I’m hoping for anyway! 🤞

Anyone been through Edinburgh or Toronto? Or with air Canada?

Going to the Carribbean in a few weeks time , got a 24 hour stop over in Toronto but their airport is supposed to be horrendous

Been through Edinburgh. No bother except for the All Bar One being really poor service. Ended up in Wetherspoons. 🤦‍♂️

I was in Toronto earlier this year travelling to St Johns from Heathrow. Tbought it was fine to be honest. We ballsed up the transfer like and ended up accidently going out through immigration when we didn’t need to but other than that no drama. Just went into the BA lounge which was spot on.

Dunno what's going on at Edinburgh, but two EasyJet flights EZY729L and EZY515Z to EDI have just diverted in Newcastle and Loganair's LOG87E has just done a u-turn and is off south (Teesside maybe?). Ryanair RYR6HJ has just finished doing circles off Sunderland...

I have just been back to the UK with WestJet and had only a slight delay - half hour or so each way

My step-kids dad has just done Edinburgh-Toronto-Vancouver-Kelowna with Air Canada

He was delayed and when he got to Toronto and was told he wasnt going to Vancouver and ended up in Calgary and no flights to Kelowna when he got there so had to stay overnight and getting in this morning - so basically a bit of a nightmare

Our lad had the journey from hell a few weeks ago, attending a family wedding in Italy. Delays on all 4 flights and lost luggage for 8 in the party on the outbound flight which eventually turned up a day later.

Luckily for me though since he had (a) so much time on his hands and (b) been demanding quite a lot of sex recently, I was able to rinse him in the Heathrow Chanel

What?

Heathrow seems by far and away the worst. Mind you I remember back a few years ago when we flew back from Rome we had to sit waiting for a gate for 45 minutes after we landed before we got off. I avoid it when I can

Edinburgh was a nightmare yesterday morning, 1 woman checking in all the BA flights so we were over an hour and a half queuing for check in, by contrast security was a doddle and we couldn’t have been any more than 10 mins through that.

Heathrow T5 was busy and was difficult to get anywhere to eat or drink but once sat down it felt ok.

Atlanta passport control was just chaos with a few delayed flights all landing at once, clueless and rude staff not helping at all.

Gatwick South Terminal was busy on Wednesday night but got through to my gate in around 1 hour.

The security hold ups are mainly due to brain dead folk who are incapable of taking liquids and other forbidden items out of their hand luggage. I mean, how fricking difficult is it!!!

Edinburgh baggage reclaim was an absolute mess yesterday afternoon. International side. Departure the week before, first day of Scottish school hols was a mixed.bag. security rammed, lots of queues airside for retail, check-in looked horrible for lots of airlines but Ryanair process worked really well. Fast park there works really well. Literally outside the front door and affordable.
