Changing Career

Dear Hivemind of the SMB,

As many of you know, I've been in Fundraising for many a year (15 if you include Uni).
In job terms, it's all I've known.
I've volunteered at a brewery and a radio station and I've worked behind a bar many moons ago.

But I'm starting to feel I need a new challenge. Problem is I have absolutely no idea what to do.
I can't just sack it and look for a job as I have dependants. I need to find something and move into it.
I also don't want to take a massive hit financially - it doesn't make sense to at the moment.

I suppose I have a lot of transferable skills, as they say, but I have no idea what to change them into.

Have you ever had a total career change? What did you go from and start doing?
I could do with some (helpful and sensible) suggestions, please!
Think about what you would do with your time if you won the lottery and make that your starting point. Think about what your hobbies are.
There's been many threads on this subject over the years so I'm in danger of repeating myself but I moved from managing software developers on a good wage to being a full time writer on next to nowt. You learn to cut your cloth so consider what you could give up to make it happen.
