Sky bods have often referred to a change in the LBW law that enabled Swann to pick up more wickets coming round the wicket than had previously been the case.

I can't find anything that says the law has been changed, so what are the commentators banging on about?

not a change in the LBW law. Its more to do with the use of DRS. In years gone by a batsman would be able to plant his front foot right down the track and that would provide enough doubt in the umpires mind to give him not out. Now, with DRS and the use of hawkeye, batsman dont get that benefit of doubt anymore. If it hits the pad and the ball is deemed as going on to hit the stumps cleanly he is given out.

Although in local leagues after 5 o'clock that doesn't apply, as anything close to the stumps is giving out regardless of how far down the pitch you are.

I remember Billy Wuffendale (sp) in the Coast league used to make his umpiring decisions purely based upon the timetable of the 141 bus after last 20 had been called. Didnt disguise it particularly well.
