Centre Forward tomorrow

Fully expect Burstow to start. Not sure that's the right thing tbh. He hasn't looked like scoring at all, he's not even missing chances.

Personally I'd start Hemir, at least he's got into positions to miss chances

Thoughts lads, lasses and other pronouns
this is the problem long term, neither burstow or hemir look good enough for this level

Which is exactly why I'd play him. We simply don't use a number 9, Burstow barely ever touches the ball, because the football we play is a lot of interplay between the wide players and the no 10. We almost never ping balls in behind, or balls up to a striker. Burstow spends most of the game running about being ignored. Rusyn would drop in and be a more flexible option up there, he'd be involved more.

Spot on there mate.

No idea how Mayenda plays, but we don't set up to play with a conventional no.9 like Hemir and Burstow. They get used as decoys to create space over actually trying to create chances for them to score.

If we've spent a few million on bring Rusyn in to play 10/15 mins off the bench on the left for Clarke, then its been a few million wasted in my opinion.

Tbf they're still very young and inexperienced. It's short term that's the problem. Long term they could be the answer as they can improve

I kind of agree with that, although I think Burstow has contributed a lot more than people are giving him credit for. His hold up play and passing have been helping us a lot, I think he really needs someone alongside him though (Rusyn?), and obviously he needs to start scoring himself.

It would be nice to see Hemir get more opportunities though.
I think it was telling that Mowbray sat him deeper for a bit against boro and played ba higher up. I think the lads a decent player but a loan at this level is maybe a season too soon?

They'll also be working on a ready made replacement for Clarke. It's highly likely we'll lose him in one of the next 2 windows

I've forgot more than you'll ever know sunshine
That is true. Inevitable Clarke will be gone but no way was Rusyn brought in and chased all summer just to sit on the bench.

Mowbray said: “Alex Pritchard, Pierre Ekwah, Bradley Dack (have had injuries) and it seems Dan Ballard picked up an injury with Northern Ireland.

“If they don't train tomorrow, they won't be playing and they know that.

So, anyone know if they are training today?
Centre midfield worries me the most atm

You don't make your main target of the transfer window a cover signing mate.

I suspect Speakman brought Rusyn in as a striker so there may be a difference in opinion between him and Mowbray. Probably the same as thinking Seelt would come in to CB when Batth left, but Tony's had other ideas again.

Hemir is not mobile enough for our style of play. At least Burstow is able to chase down defenders etc. He's done OK last few games just not getting chances but that's probably because he's dropping and linking things up. Would like to see Rusyn given a go like nut expect Burstow will be starting again.
