Need Latham to get a double ton here

Latham to carry gud bat??

How many have done it for Durham?

Dont know how many have done it but I doubt any can be finer than Wayne Larkins' unbeaten 158 out of 305 against Courtney Walsh and Gloucs at Gateshead Fell in 94.....extras was the next highest scorer with 31.

By all accounts Walsh came into the home dressing room, shook Ned's hand and said, "Man that was some innings!"

It remains the coldest I have ever been watching a cricket match.

Remember it well.

Need to get through tonight and the start of tomorrow without losing a wicket. And can't afford any loss of wickets in chunks like we always seem too

Top cricketer and top bloke Courtney. Another from the Tynedale hotbed of cricket.

Push Stokes up to 3 and gan for it. Got fuck all to lose.
Apart from the match Paddy.

Big day tomorrow. Think much will ride on how the first session goes and then how Stokes goes.

If we’re no more than 2 down at Lunch we’re in the game.

The addition of the two England lads should really give us an advantage, even if they’ve not particularly shone for us in Championship cricket since Stokes’ bowled us to safety in 2016 at home to Surrey. Suppose it’s about time they made an impact, Wood especially will be keen to stake his claim for the Test team.

I go back to this and y’knar, if it wasn’t for bad luck we’d have no f***ing luck would we?

A chance of a game with two of our England stars and one of them is written off in the first session of the game. Which is shite in itself but when it means we’ve got only three seamers, toiling away in a heatwave, it’s an even bigger blow. I wouldn’t swap any of our seamers for theirs, but to be handicapped like we’ve been is a bastard.

Hopefully Stokes can make a big contribution with the bat tomorrow. His bowling has been exceptional.
