503-7, 8 overs left tonight after this one. Olivier just trying to hit our batsmen now - ha'way Colly, declare.

Olivier has hoyed two short ones down the leg side for four in this over

Lead is 81. Ha'way Colly man!

509-8 - Wood chops on. Lead is 82 - why are we still batting?

Well, that was pointless. 520 all out. Weighell given caught behind when he quite blatantly didn't hit it. Clearly the umpire was sick of all the f***ing about too.

By my maths, we'll have three overs tonight to get into them.

1-0 after 2 overs. Wood nearly got through twice, which would've made it interesting if we had another 3/4 overs to get at them

Well done Poynter! Did not think he was capable of a knock like that. In the long term I still think they have to pick between the 2 wicket keeper batsmen especially if they are batting at 6 and 7 in the orderand only playing 4 front line bowlers and no specialist spinner.

ultimately i think you're right but funny time to say one of them needs dropping after they both got a ton

Said it from the start of the season we are playing two wicket keeper batsmen at 6 and 7 in the order and only playing 4 front line bowlers. If the pair of them keep scoring runs like they have done in this innings then great and they can bat at 5 and 6 in the order and another player who is not scoring runs can be dropped. I just think in the long run Richardson is a more productive batsmen when he has the comfort of knowing he is an all rounder rather than a specialist batsmen.
Also without a front line spinner the amount of overs the likes of Weighell are being expected to bowl is a bit worrying and we have already had 2 seamers breakdown already this season.

Is Wood fit? I see his figures in the first innings weren't the best. How's his pace?

barely played any cricket to get any rhythm so unlike the other replies i'll not write him off just yet.

much like all the people who after the kent game were saying we're as bad as we were as a minor county :lol:

i see where you are coming from, the problem is we really haven't got any batsmen to replace one or the other. nto sure if the stats will back us up but i feel like richo has been a better bat since having the gloves too off him, though tthere probavbly isn't alot in it.

i'd sooner play pringle if possible but realistically, now clark is well in the runs recently, that would mean dropping one of richo or poynter, althought with steel & smith both proving reliable with ball, even taknig wickets i think we'll be as you were for a while yet
