Which admittedly favours them, because we were going along nice and serenely before they took them off. No idea why the option of spin wasn't offered.

Had a word with Mark Wood between innings. Rimmington is sick rather than injured. Got the two bob bits apparently

Fair enough. Probably do him no harm to sit and watch our lads bat all day tomorrow - which I hope can be achieved

Do we not have a young batsman who could play instead of Rico?

Really like Steel, got grit that we need at this current moment.

Can't help wishing Onions was out there like, surely worth a 2 year deal?

Could just play with 10 instead of Richardson. He's hopeless.

Steel gone without addition. Very gentle dismissal.

115-3. Need a further 163 to avoid the follow on.

Viljoen has just bowled three wides in a row, yet the umpire only called one

SIX!!

Viljoen bounces Colly and he swats the twat away over deep backward square for 6 .

133-3.

Glorious straight drive brings up Clark's 50. Batted lad, DOUBLE IT!!

90 balls and 7 fours.

144-3.

Three maidens in a row  - 163-3.

50 partnership - double it lads ;)

169-4 - Colly gone for 27, nowt he could do, ball seamed away late and took the edge.

Need a further 109 to avoid the follow on.

Getting close to the first batting point of the season.

Shhhhh man

Clark triggered lbw, felt it had more than enough doubt about it missing leg but there you go. 175-5, wobble on.

They're testing Richardson out with a lot of short stuff and he's hopping all over - can't see him lasting long.

A BATTING POINT!!!!!!

At the third attempt, we've only gone and got a bloody batting point

200-5 - Richardson and Poynter playing their shots. An hour or so of these two would be mint, unfortunately I fear they're already on borrowed time

Lunch: 217-5 - Richardson 32*, Poynter 14*.

After Richardson's initial short ball trouble he's batted as well as anyone with some lovely drives. Both have gone for their shots and if they can occupy the crease for an hour or so after lunch I think we'll pass the follow-on target with ease. As I say though, they look like they could get out any moment .

Richardson dropped on 33 by the keeper off Olivier, next ball is full and wide and Richo caresses it through the covers for four - as so often is the way after a drop.

228-5. 50 more needed to avoid the follow-on.

Richardson 50* from 73 balls with 7 fours. After the initial 20 minutes he's been as aesthetically pleasing as any durham batsman. Well batted - double the fucker!

Poynter 52* from 84 balls with 5 fours - excellent from the pair at the crease. Follow on avoided - now for a lead!!!

GERIN POYNTER LAD!!!!

100 on the weekend where Ireland make their Test debut, despite being overlooked, he does that. they didn't think he should've been in the Test team, I had doubts he should be in our team - I'm loving the taste of humble pie right now. Absolute class.

100* from 128 balls with 11 fours.

The two who came into this game under most pressure have had the biggest impact for us here - very well done. Delighted to be proved wrong yet again.

FOUR batting points secured

354-4, 12 overs to score 46 for the maximum.

365-5 (100 overs) 35 to score in ten overs.

That's Tea ^^^ Poynter 112*, Richardson 76*.
