I can't remember seeing a Sunderland team play a worse 45 minutes of football. God knows what the formation was, the midfield was non-existent and the defence were pathetic but ultimately it's the manager's fault - he's clueless.
yep, been some bad ones, personally that's the worst I've seen. We need a guy in now who will motivate, get the ball in the box and pick people in their right positions.and in the pantheon of utter horror shows over the years(southampton, peterboro away, easter monday derby game)
thats saying something
Evey few months I think Ive seen a performance as bad as can be, and then we plumb new depths.yep, been some bad ones, personally that's the worst I've seen. We need a guy in now who will motivate, get the ball in the box and pick people in their right positions.
Yeah, agree with that to a point but there was no shortage of challenges going in. It was the lack of organisation and positional sense that was most alarming. Maybe if the players knew where they had to be on the pitch then they would have been close enough to make a challenge!
Not excusing our performance at all though. It was completely gutless - summed up by O'Shea attempting some sort of drag back and toe poking the ball to N'Zogbia 20 yards from goal.
If only I could get my lad to shut up!! He was entertaining all those around him with his "rants" and shouting "Bye Bye gus" every 5 mins - I apologise to anyone in Row 12 of the Prem Councourse!I spent most of it convincing my 21 year old not to go home and Oatway was doing the same with Larsson at half time . Actually my lad is as f***ing daft as me so we just sat there in silence in the 2nd half.
Only the players know thatI agree that the organisation was also piss poor but I've given you three examples where tackles should have gone in and they didn't. That wasn't due to not knowing where they should be. It was down to not making sufficient effort.
I think he'll be gone if we don't win against West Ham

Only the players know that
"Give it Giggsy till end of season"
What if your weight is on the wrong foot because you aren't sure whether you should be challenging the man with the ball or covering the runner in behind? If your weight distribution is off, then you can be 6" away from a player and not be able to challenge him.Respectfully disagree. A blind man on a galloping horse could see that in those three instances the players simply didn't try hard enough to get close to their man or put a proper challenge in. If a man runs past you with the ball and you don't attempt to challenge him, it's nothing to do with organisation.
No. That was FletcherHe'd be on the wing, man......
Misleading thread title. Can the mods sort it out please.

I don't believe the players aren't trying. I believe they have muddled minds when they get on the pitch due to the Head Coach's utterly baffling tactics and formation
No. That was Fletcher![]()
Gus would stick him in goalIf Giggsy was available, he'd walk into our team, on the wing......![]()
Nice little rap bridge at the end of your post thereEvey few months I think Ive seen a performance as bad as can be, and then we plumb new depths.
Last year away at Cardiff, I thought I'd struggle to see a poorer half than the 1st in that game. Then we had the 8 niller, then Hull at home, then QPR, now Villa.
