Never knowingly met the lad.
I just don't think he hides, he's nearly always available for a pass.
There's only one player who doesn't hide but i think he avoids taking responsibility near the opposition box and that's Larsson. Ive witnessed him check back a few times, with and without the ball, to avoid the pointy end. That's the only time it's ever been noticeable to me.
Obviously, there's a big difference between hiding and having top defenders trying to deny a pass.
Certainly not with clear cut chances thats for sure. They call it chances created. Not sure how they measure it but still.
Bang on, he makes excuses for Jack.Yet when Colback does this you say ''its his role he's asked to play etc'' or ''you dont know what instructions he's under from poyet''.

I think it was Arsenal at home, he put someone in with a pass that was class, if anyone else had done it they would have been raving about it. Because it was Cattermole it went unnoticed.
I can remember a few occasions this season where he has shown vision none of our other midfielders have shown. He's been here almost 5 years years man and you can remember one pass....![]()

See above post.
Whatever measure they use cattermole is way behind all our other midfielders.Certainly not with clear cut chances thats for sure.
As I say its not clear cut chances, can you remember Bridcutt making a defence splitting pass?Whatever measure they use cattermole is way behind all our other midfielders.

Thats not a dig at Bridcutt mind, I think he looks a decent player.

Accepting it and excusing it are 2 totally different things.
That above post relates directly to Colback and Larsson. Not just Seb.
There have been a few times when ive been close enough to the action to think Larsson didn't want to be where he was.
Colback makes forward runs often but i don't think he's a particularly natural attacker. Sometimes they look a bit forced and out of context with the game, but he never looks like he bottles it.
Cattermole on the other hand rarely gets forward so he avoids any criticism whatsoever. He's a specialist defensive midfielder. His job is to make sure the opposition don't get soft goals.![]()
You are a weird weird fella
No reason why he can't play in a five man midfield with Bridcutt as the anchor and Borini up top, it need not be an either or with Bridcutt.
He'll always make mistakes, I don't like it and don't make excuses why it happens. I do though accept it will happen.By accepting something negative you normally have to excuse it's impact so not totally different at all, but seeing as you're the master of pedantry and minutiae we'll just leave it at that as I don't want to spend my whole day off discussing semantics......![]()
Probably. I'd keep him, Colback, Bridcutt and then try add 1-2 more with a bit quality going forward.
