Cattermole

Great signing, Cattermole is the driving force of this team and as much of a cult hero/legend as we've had since Reidy was in charge. We need to sign better players around him, but we need people like Catts to show these new players what's required in terms of commitment and effort.

Catts and Seb (even JOS IMO) are great pros, great work ethics, great examples who always give their all to SAFC. We are desperate for quality.

The only reason we have stayed up last few years is that we have a good core of senior pros who work their socks off, now we need quality players to help them out and win us games

Yeah we tend to expect more from these players so they get more stick when it's going wrong but if Cattermole, Larsson and John O'Shea were the worst 3 players in our 11 then we'd be in the top half of the table. We need more quality around them though, definitely.

He will miss about 30 to 4o matches in the next 6 year s .that's nearly a full season .

Very good news - a very important part of our setup. He does the dirty work which will hopefully allow some creative minded additions to work some magic. That's not to say that Cattermole can't do those things either because he is good in possession and has a decent eye for a pass.

What a time to support SAFC, when we only need a miracle last gasp run of form every year to stay in the league. Well worth the top ten salaries we pay them. We're not worthy. I dreamed of the day our senior pros were good enough for us to be the turd that won't flush, the Coventry of the 21st century. Hallelujah brothers and sisters.

Was never a fan but post Di Canio Catts has been good to very good and shown signs of being great.

He was excellent pre di canio too

one of the reasons MON struggled so badly in his 2nd season that never gets mentioned is that Cattermole was injured for almost all of it

He has more good games than bad games and giving him a new contract is cheaper for the club than having to replace him. Lets hope we don't see any more repeat performances like the one he gave down Southampton, where he completely downed tools and was nothing short of a disgrace.

 just fuck off man

Di Canio's physios seemed to sort his constant injury problems. Didn't help that Bruce was always rushing players back like.

agreed although he always has a few sloppy passes in him I always feel people underrate his passing

Meh. Canny player on his day, but vastly over rated by many it seems.

How can you say that?

look at the amount of points we get him within the team compared to when he isn't

the facts are there but people still refuse to acknowledge it, very strange

I don't expect you to have the intelligence to grasp it.

Injured all the time prior to a manager's tenure (or more importantly a medical setup), rarely injured afterwards.

Plenty of things to have a dig about, but fitness and occurrence of injuries not credible as one of them. You only have to look at the squad's fitness record that season. We got a full year out of Wes Brown for Christ's sake.
