Cattermole

might be the first player in years to actually see a testamonial year...getting increasingly rare these days

he's like the new Bally

People point to the reducing red count and say he has matured.
I reckon Catts is looking down the right path, but still behaves like an arse on the pitch far too often. The massive yellow count backs me up on this.
He is maturing, but the process seems a bit like taming a wild bear (not that I have tried either)
Hence my suggestion earlier that the song line for Catts is
"they call me mellow yellow (quite likely)"

Try to take the aggressive side of his game away and he's half the player.

Plus, everyone knows that he has at least 4 bookings a season "because he's cattermole"

Having an agressive streak is ok. Earning around 4 bookings because of this is acceptable. Get Catts down to this level of psychopath and he will be quite a player.

A combative defensive midfielder is always going to earn more than 4 bookings a season man

4 = OK; 14 = too much of a psycho. Plenty room for debate as to an acceptable level. Going into the last few games with Catts under the threat of starting this season banned was not good. Credit to him for keeping a level head for the last couple of games.

Of the top 16 yellow card collectors in the premier league last season, 13 were combative midfielders.

Matic got 10
Fabregas got 11
Colback got 12
Mason got 10
Wanyama got 10

See the trend? I'd hardly call those "psycho"

I see. So Cattermole the psycho is the equvalent of Matic plus 40%.
If Catts earns no more than 10 bookings next year I will accept that he is maturing and is one helluva player (assuming he has stayed fit most games)

I read yesterday that he's only been sent off twice in the last four seasons and one of those was after the game.
So without the pointless "headcase" after the game sending off it would be one in 4 seasons. Very impressive stat. Catts is not far from being the player we need him to be.

i wonder if trobot tells his marras how he has infiltrated the smb

For the record, I am pleased the club has shown faith in Cattermole. I hope he sees it as a licence to keep on maturing.

And we all know that cattermole gets atleast 40% of those bookings because he's Lee Cattermole

Even looking at that small sample you van see top half/bottom half difference. Make it 12 as a limit and I think k that's a fair reflection of maturing. Didn't seb get 10 last year?
