Cattermole again

Even if he'd had a great game, yet another mistake meant we were immediately chasing the game.

Plenty of effort, hustle and bustle, but unbelievably calamitous.

Is he worth it, that's the question?

His discipline has improved considerably and he's not the only one to cost us points this season. Far from it.

However, he is not a PL footballer

I agree, they are all shite but he's been the most consistently inconsistent because he's reduced us to 10 men on far too many occasions. Even when he only gets a yellow, he reduces the team to 10 men because he drops out of the game.

That's not true though. He was pretty poor last night mind.

This is true. He becomes totally ineffective because he knows he's off if there's another daft tackle.
It's not though. As recent as Norwich springs to mind. Booked within a couple of minutes and was our best player. I'm not saying what you've said hasn't happened it just doesn't happen every time he's booked.

It's poor. Poor is poor. He wasn't as bad as some are making out though.
He was our worst player mate, with the exception of possibly Seb, who again ran around doing his 'distance covered' opta stats the world of good but little else, you can also guarantee Jose will have been taking note, he'll be pressured into doing something similar on Saturday mark my words....

Ah ok, just that you regularly describe Colback as poor but ive never ever seen him pass like Cattermole did last night. Given equal numbers I'd expect some c**t wearing a blindfold to manage 50%.

Passing aside it's groundhog morning again. Do you recall ex-pro PISTON getting abuse for highlighting a defect in Cattermole's game a long time ago and pointing it out on repeat cycle ever since. It's that little Cattermole shuffle when he opens up his body to let the ball run through without looking while receiving a pass. Sometimes he likes to rub the ball under his feet as it goes through. You know the one Rocky.
Dangerous trait, opposition pro's don't miss a trick.

Anyway, f**k up and passing aside he recovered from his early error a fair bit and in the end played his part in the point.

Thought Seb played well 1st half, well no I don't think. I know. Catts was poor you won't find me arguing otherwise. Similar performance to his last v Chelsea would be welcome. He was excellent against them in the cup.

Difference is you notice Cattermole when he is poor, Colback is anonymous. You know that and so do I. Let's not bore everyone with it.

Anonymous defenders are like anonymous referees, the less you notice them the better they usually are.
At times Cattermole is the midfield's answer to Howard Webb.

I'm f**king gutted after last night. Almost feels like a loss. If we'd been 2-1 down and equalised like City everyone would be probably be upbeat with the one point.
Hope we haven't blown our chance to pull off a shock.

Mixed emotions. Happy with the performance but disappointed to concede two poor goals

Good performance but we nearly conceded three. Nasri should've nicked it at the end.
Looking back i'm not sure if their early goal affected the result too much. Once they scored it seemed to numb their urgency and gave as a bit of a foothold to work from. Maybe if they hadn't scored they would've got into a higher gear for a longer period. Momentum works both ways and we had more than our fair share last night.
