I was led to believe it was less than that. We did our own, with help, for our engagement and could have fed the f***ing 5000 instead of the 3 people who did like us enough to come.

I've been told 66% when we had my engagement. Obviously boths our parents decided to fuck that off and we had far far too much and wasted loads.

Stuck to about 66% for my mams birthday and it seemed about right.

It's getting cheaper! :)
It's just for a christening, and it'll be about 2pm, so would imagine most would have eaten lunch by then anyways.

The future Mrs Hulkster has given the caterers a wildly optimistic number for the evening do for our wedding like.

Having a hog roast and I'm gonna cry seeing so much of it thrown away, especially knowing I've paid for it.

Gonna be a fuck off big pig like.

To be honest mate, I think people go a bit daft with buffets these days. Maybe a day time do, when people won't be drinking as much, more pleasent conversation, fair enough.

But night time do's when everybody is there just to get pissed and have a laugh, hoy in a few sausage rolls and cheese on sticks. Nobodys expecting seasfood platters and shite (I had them )

Ours was summat like £10 a head for a sausage sandwich and wedges. f***ing ridiculous man. We'd already paid a daft amount for 80odd people for what essentially was a Sunday dinner so didn't want to go daft on a massivly overpriced buffet. As long as she's happy just let her get on with it, that's the only way you'll cope ;)

Lot of venues now insist that you cater for 100% of the attending guests as they want their pound of flesh............

Our friend has just been looking for somewhere for a christening do with self catering, cos her mam does it. Didn't realise their was so few places around now

we were gonna do that but found it works out more or less the same, as the venue either charge you for the room hire, or catering per head. By the time we paid for the room, and them made all the stuff ourselves, we were only saving summit like £25

No chance pal.....they'll be hank marvin after skipping lunch due to the fact that there's going to be loads of bait put on by your goodselves!

The couple we''ve been to at the H&R (if it's there) have been well catered for and there wasn't a shortage of scran. Sure for our two we catered for two thirds and despite me worrying that there wasn't going to be enough, there was plenty......even with you there!! ;) :-D
