Carroll Wankfest

Have to agree. This is exactly what Capello is looking for Caroll to give. He'll start the next qualifier.

:lol::lol: will he bollocks.... Defoe,Rooney, Bent, Crouch are all ahead of him.

capello may aswell just play carroll and crouch up front every game and leave the rest at home, the way we hoof the ball into the area only seems to suit them 2. crouch can barely get a game or score for his club unless its from a corner or something that requires a plasticine leg yet hes got 22 in 42 for england. we play rubbish football.

Wasted the lad's talents for me. When he plays for his club they mix it up and knock a lot of balls into the left channel, to his feet. Gives him a chance to use his strength and hold it up more. f***ing ridiculous tactics belting aimless long balls from daft angles all night.

carroll was no better or no worse than anyone else i thought.
being the front man he was always going to get the ball hoofed at him.
wide men either not used enough or the french did a good job of stopping them getting the ball otherwise carroll may well have looked more useful.
france dominated midfield resulting in a lot of our stuff going backwards and ending with a hoof from the keeper, think hendo did 'ok' considering.

....but the commentators were so far up carroll's arse i am suprised he managed to jump for any ball.

Red and white specs off, he done alright. But it worries me that England resort to the long ball tactic. f***ing awful to watch at times tonight.

An accurate, fair post on Carroll? Wrong forum mate.

Everyone knows all NUFC do is hoof balls up to him, he's only good in the air and he shouldn't be playing because he's guilty of mass genocide and he's a convicted rapist

Thought he did ok, nobody really shone and with those tactics it would have been hard for any player to take credit out of that game.

He did ok. However he is a Skunk and will get zero credit on here. Meanwhile back in the real world.

You're right, he'll get very little credit on here but Sunderland fans have given credit to Newcastle/England players in the past ...... Beardsley and Shearer spring to mind. I had no problem cheering Shearer's goals when I was away watching England.

There are 2 problems with Carroll.

Firstly he's a truly despicable man with a history of cowardly violence and I doubt anyone could deny that.

Secondly he's an indication of how dreadful the national team must be if the future is a throwback to Tommy Lawton, Brylcreem and balls with laces in them.

Exactly. There most have been few balls available for him to hold up and bring Walcott, Gerrard and Milner into the game.

This direct style of play also made Henderson more anonymous then he should. Why exactly play a deep lying playmarker (which I'm assuming was Henderson's role) when you then by pass that role playing direct/long balls.

I would be interested to know how many completed passes we made in a row compared to France.

England's style of play is f***ing shite

What about his performance?

What about his performance?

I doubt that was the intention. Looked to me as if Henderson and Barry were deployed as defensive midfielders. Right now Henderson isn't the sort of player who can dismantle sides spraying passes around, he's a one, two quick touch and keep the ball moving type.

What about his performance?

I thought his performance was reasonable.
He was on the oitch long enough to cause the French defence problems but, apart from a few aimless flick-ons, didn't do any noteworthy.

Yes, he wins balls in the air and holds the ball when it's played to his feet but, if we're playing the ball to him from defence, there's no one there with him.

It's not the player that's my problem it's the style he represents and I don't like it. I don't think it's suitable for modern international football to be honest.

Fat boy Quinn was raving about Carrol this morning and said it was only cos the rest of the team was shite that he didn't excell more.
Apparently he won every header and held up the ball brilliantly.
He had a decent debut in very difficult circumstances, but I was actually suprised by how many headers he didn't win, and his chest control was awful on many occaisons.

I also thought the whole team played better second half with the introduction of Johnson and Young, and again when Boothroyd came on. Just what I saw like.

Oh and he thinks Capello is a disgrace for playing Gerrard for more than 60mins as he agreed to do with Liverpool

That's what I saw as well, thought I was watching a different game to what some on here saw, Carroll didn't impress me one bit, and by playing him, and his old fashioned style lead us to old fashioned football, a deadly mistake.

Thats what is pisses me off so much today, and is why Henderson is getting shite for no reason. I remember Henderson dropping off a few times trying to get the ball off the defence, but they missed him out. I blame Cappello and the experienced players for this not Carroll. Where was Barry and Gerrard shouting at the defence to play the ball to players feet, fecking no where.

I wish Barry would fuck right off.

I believe if we did play a short game Carroll could do a role in that team, bringing other players into the game, but it won’t happen for England they prefer the direct style to much.

That's not his fault blame the other players and Cappello.

one thing i did notice about carroll was a couple of times he had an easy ball to lay off to the midfield and he bloody WELLIED it at them
he did it at jordan at one point
i was stood up shouting
LEAVE JORDAN ALONE

I agree totally with this.
I said this in another post he has no finesse as a footballer. He is still learning mind so that might improve. He did ok but is still a greasy haired pikey mag twat
