a deal is only a deal when both clubs has signed the paperwork
it is one thing publicising a deal is about to be done but what matters is when is it legally done.
I have no thoughts either way at present but would like to know, if legally was the deal fully completed.
my initial thoughts which may be a million miles away, is that the agent seemed very determined to get the player over asap and questions are being asked about that
PimpsThe role of agents does need looking at. They are vultures feeding off the game.
None of this affects the deal ..... "why was there a delay in flight times. IIRC correctly the flight was delays by about 10 hours. why. was there an issue. was the plane used competent enough to fly over a large body of water at night. was the plane paid for by the agent. why the rush. why not wait until morning, questions about pilot but not on this thread"
Cardiff had agreed the deal and signed the player, as far as they were concerned ..... I've no idea if it was fully registered but obviously the two clubs do.
dangerous to assume anything, but if deal done, I would assume that registering the player would be done asap.
I think I read somewhere that the player is not yet registered. maybe a reason as events overtook this.
pointless arguing over this as neither of us has all the correct information but certainly appears that something is not right somewhere. what that is, we just have to wait and see.
Agreed, but if you told a buyer that someone else had already offered a higher price when infant they hadn't you would be breaking the law.If that was the case Cardiff would still have to stump up, and sue the agent, unless Cardiff and the selling club both knew about it.If I sell my house for asking price it doesn't matter if the buyer finds out I would have sold it for 90% of asking price when the deal has been done and he'll get short shrift from me if he tries to renegotiate when the contract has been ratified. I may have told him matey was going to pay asking price if he could sort his mortgage out and it could all have been lies but it's all irrelevant.
Being registered is irrelevant.
Look at Leicester and Adrien Silva and they missed registering him by 14 seconds. He was still their player though but unable to play for half a season until he could be registered in the January window.
Very difficult when the whole of football at the highest level is run by thieving dodgy bastardsIt’s murky as fuck. Somebody really needs to get a grip of the game and clear out all of these thieving dodgy bastards ASAP.
the point being, that at the point of applying to register silva, he was leicesters player and they knew that.
the fact that Cardiff has not registered Sala, may just indicate that there is an issue and not yet entitled to register him as their player.
When did that become a fact .... you didn't know 2 posts ago![]()
I bleieve that is known as a "tucking"When did that become a fact .... you didn't know 2 posts ago![]()
I don't actually know as I have not seen PL documentation / confirmation. however it is reported that he is not registered, how accurate that is, is another question.
it does raise a point, when he was actually meant to have signed on 18th Jan after a medical at Cardiff
There was a public inquiry (Leveson) into the conduct of the press at a huge cost to the taxpayer, which laid out a new code of conduct for them to adhere to.While I don’t necessarily agree with media bans per se, some kind of informal agreement between the tabloids, where the media show some f***ing respect in situations of a legal/sensitive personal nature, such as this, and just don’t report it until it’s more appropriate to do so (facts established, resolved) would be grown up and refreshing.
Insurance companies don't have to pay out.And you'd be right.
Imagine what the insurance premiums would be as insurance companies will want bigger premiums than the true odds of risk/reward. It would have to be long term profitable for insurance companies and clubs just take the risk themselves nowadays. It might have been beneficial years a go when footballers were on similar wages to the average man but not nowadays.
I’m not even getting into the more sinister aspects of the media which brought about Leveson. For situations like this, in an ideal world, it’d be nice if you had a few editors get their heads together, and rather than spouting the usual bullshit about ‘public interest,’ where infact the very definition of what’s of interest to the public is stretched to the f***ing limit, they either agree to show some class and not report it all until the dust is settled, or at the very least, limit their reporting of something like this to a brief, dignified and factually correct ‘Cardiff City are currently reviewing their legal position following the death of their recent, record transfer Sala. There is nothing more to report at this time.’ Without spinning an article out of it, which inevitably leads to conjecture and opinion over what is actually going on.There was a public inquiry (Leveson) into the conduct of the press at a huge cost to the taxpayer, which laid out a new code of conduct for them to adhere to.
It made not one jot of difference towards their reprehensible behaviour.
I think you're a 'no smoke without fire' kind of fella who loves a bit of speculation.
When you're challenged you'll say we're both speculating and should leave it there then carry on as before.
'Carry on Speculating' starring Sid James as the man who wouldn't just admit he actually knew fuck all![]()
No, I am more the kind of person who wants to know more facts which will in fairness not come from here but from the authorities.
I don't rule things out and nor do I rule them in without confirmation.
Its an open mind following the trail of evidence. It might lead somewhere, it may not, but the questions have to be asked.
if he signed on 18th jan has he been registered with the PL.
If yes, that door closed. If no, why not. was there an issue
Are they not trying to prove that McKay artificially inflated his value by giving the impression that there was more demand than there was? I'd imagine to try and reduce the fee owed rather than get out of it all together.Odd one that. Even if the other clubs confirm they were never interested in signing him I don't see how that would affect whether Cardiff owe the money. Surely they can't be trying to argue that they only bought him because they thought others were interested as well? Clubs and agents plant stories about alleged interest all the time, it's not illegal in any way. Absolutely understand them looking into it and ensuring he was registered as their player etc, but don't understand this angle at all
Seems about the size of it, pay and if there's avenues to pursue (agent organising dodgy planes to save money perhaps?) then pursue that later, just have a bit of dignity for the lad and his family ffs.Baffling that their argument is he was offered to other teams, which player isn't?
I was accused if being cold hearted the other day by a family member cause I said of course Cardiff should pay he was their player and had signed a contract. I even explained that of he was going there to sign the contract it would be different.
Why should the selling team lose 15million was my argument, because a person has died and it's disgusting that they now what that money. It's disgusting Cardiff now trying to get out of paying was my reply. Which they didn't get.
Should have paid it and kept quiet, a person has died and now all they care about is if it will cost them.
