they aren't looking very good in all of this. sounds like they're trying to come up with any reason not to pay
i guess they didn't have insurance in place. don't even know if there is such a thing for what happened?
This really does deserve its own thread. I notice as usual they fail to include Steve Bruce in their list of managers who sign their sons.Everything’s a little too cosy in football’s game of family fortunes | Daniel Taylor
Its the Mckays man
They offered Salas a million pounds to his mother if he signed for Cardiff where warnocks son is a transfer advisor
Murky waters but nothing illegal which is a disgrace
Presumably it’s just to try and muddy the waters a bit more, by trying to form an idea that at the time of his death, it was due to circumstances that weren’t necessarily related to Cardiff and consequently as it was entirely outside of their control, they shouldn’t be liable for payment. Not that anyone is suggesting Cardiff were remotely accountable for the accident, anyway, or that contractually, that line of reasoning would necessarily make any difference whatsoever.Odd one that. Even if the other clubs confirm they were never interested in signing him I don't see how that would affect whether Cardiff owe the money. Surely they can't be trying to argue that they only bought him because they thought others were interested as well? Clubs and agents plant stories about alleged interest all the time, it's not illegal in any way. Absolutely understand them looking into it and ensuring he was registered as their player etc, but don't understand this angle at all
All of this needs a media ban, it needs sorting out as it's a large amount of money but the facts and wording of the media is going to make this look completely disrespectful and should be kept in house until a ruling is made.
It did not have time to file all the paperwork plus Nantes hurried there paperwork thru after he died two sides to the cointhey aren't looking very good in all of this. sounds like they're trying to come up with any reason not to pay

f***ing hell London mags stepping aside all overI honestly don't know but I'm not surprised Palace have been mentioned because we get reported to be after every player in the world.
I mean, from a purely business point of view, it’s completely understandable why you wouldn’t want to pay out tens of millions, for someone who never even kicked a ball for you, following entirely unforeseen circumstances and that you’d look at every conceivable option to avoid doing so.Cardiff increasingly looking like the arseholes here.
Best to swerve this shitshow.f***ing hell London mags stepping aside all over
Same here, what difference will it make if other clubs were interested?I’ve read that article and I’m still none the wiser as to what it is Cardiff are trying to prove tbh.
Of course. I know this may sound heartless but ‘sold as seen’.Cardiff are going to have to pay aren’t they
I suspect they will reach an agreement but it won't be for the full amount.
The agents do need looking at though, exactly how an agent can decide where a player goes to or not is beyond me, theses "relationships" clubs and agents have is basically third party ownership and it needs to be stopped.
Why? It is a lot of money and they are entitled to investigate options.Cardiff increasingly looking like the arseholes here.

Unfortunately the media are...on the whole....scum. They will show zero respect.
