I'd agree with that. On the other hand, though, refs tend not to give penalties if the player is impeded but doesn't go down.

Only time I can remember it was Wickham against Cardiff when we beat them 4-0 at home in the miracle season. Ref waited to see if he’d scored and when he didn’t called it back for a pen.

You suggesting football is a non contact sport?

It’s a penalty. He grabbed him around the chest in the penalty area. Just because you’re hankering for 1960s football when players would have a tab at half time it doesn’t change the fact the defender impeded Salah.

That’s because nearly every fucker dives when impeded making it doubly difficult when one doesn’t , so nee wonder.
I get that but refs should be looking to give fouls when players stay on their feet more often and giving fewer when players just flop down, even if it is a foul. Won't happen but it would help improve the game imo.

It's probably a pen mate. I just hate that contact statement because you are allowed contact.

Everyone on their last legs - watched City, Barça & 'pool this weekend and they all lacked that final precise touch. Typical of post-champions. City are going to miss De Bruyne if bad injury is confirmed - but I still fancy them to win against the woeful Solksjaer boys.

Could not agree more, but because players are soo adapt at making dives look like fouls and most do dive, it is very diffcult indeed in real time to know the difference don’t you think?

The one that really gets me is when an attacker chases a defender back then as soon as the attacker gets to the defender said defender just falls over and invariably gets the foul. It's obvious and easily changed. Proper pisses me off.

Arsenal losing today reignites Man Utd’s Champions League hopes.
City obviously could win on Wednesday, but Man United won’t just lie down. They have it all to still play for.

Of course, but City are 2 leagues ahead football-wise. The only danger for City is their lack of height compared to Utd.

Yep. I certainly remember the opposite happening under Moyes against Man Utd. Anichebe was fouled but stayed up, his effort was saved easily, no penalty.
