Car Wash

Just use the local auto car wash during the winter months, get free vouchers on my phone every month from using confused.com for car insurance. Also hand wash/polish/wax 2 or 3 times a year in the summer months.

I finally got the opportunity to do mine this morning. The last few weeks or so I’ve had to postpone it due to unexpectedly being asked to work that day the day before, bad weather or whatever. I use GardX. It looks incredible now. It gleams having been so filthy. It’s harder work but the trade off is job satisfaction. Pride in your work. I did it. Not some random guy probably on JSA who I don’t know who knows jack shit about car care.

I took the opportunity to use my Karcher Window Vac to make the windows shine. And the alloys look great.

I don’t know why anyone would be so lazy as to go to a car wash.

It’s far harder work to than a two-bit car wash. I sent a spec letter to a valeting company on the quayside in Newcastle and spent a day washing the Mercs for a chauffeur company in the sand building which were based in the top floor of the Copthorne car park. I was shattered but it’s a good job. You start of with Clios but as word spreads develop to doing Audis and Ferraris.
Sounds unreal hun

All of it.
It's a beautiful thing.
Everyone who doesn't wash their own car is lazy.
I bet you get a takeaway or go out for food, are you lazy because you don't cook everything from scratch.
Or take it further why don't you grow everything yourself, lazy b*stards going to shops and buying pre grown food, does my head in.

Some people who eat out or get a takeaway though probably can’t cook. Some people who buy veg from a supermarket can’t grow fruit and veg in an allotment. I can’t do either. But a lot can. It’s those who can who have no excuse.

Everyone knows how to wash a car however. Hose it down. Get a bucket of car wash detergent in hot water and rub with sponge. Wash suds with water and dry with a chamois or as I do a car towel a former work colleague at Unipres suggested. What excuse do those who don’t wash their car have?

You shouldn’t be using a sponge ,use a wash mit with the two bucket system.

The correct way is the way I do it ;

Pre-wash spray .
Rinse.
Snow foam.
Rinse .
Shampoo and wash with mit/2 bucket system.
Rinse.
Spray on the ceramic coat type system.
Rinse.
Dry bulk with a Car Dryer, and towel where needed.
Dress the tyres,clean glass etc.

Bingo ,shining like shit on a barn door.

I don’t do any of that and it looks ok. It sounds like you prefer to do things a much more long winded and over complicated way.

I’ve never heard of half the stuff you mentioned. Pre wash spray? Ceramic coats? Snow foam? Two bucket system? Dry bulk? Car dryer? Dress tyres? It’s all over my head all that. I prefer to keep things nice and simple and straight forward.

I don’t think it makes the car look any more cleaner adding all those other processes which probably cost more to assemble than simply using a combination of water to rinse and a big standard sponge in a bucket of hot water with car shampoo.

If you ever own a black car you’ve got no option but to do it properly.you scratch fu k out of it everytime you wash it doing it the way you do it.

Why? Why is a black car more susceptible to scratching the way I do it when I use no abrasive materials?

I would only end up paying way more than I would normally and would take far longer to do it. It took me over an hour just doing it my way.
