Car under 3500

There is so much choice at that price point just buy something you fancy, don’t spend a penny on it and sell it for what you paid for it .

You might get some oil drops on your drive but a bit degreaser will shift that.

Cars are mental price at the moment.

I have a brand new BMW but may be looking at running a second car. Was looking at 1 series but not worth the prices they are asking.

My top.
An Alfa.
Make sure it’s a diesel and you’ll pick up a decent mito (on a corsa body) or a Geillietto (sp)
Very very underrated

Basically my leaf goes back and need a new car before 7th December! just want something cheap for graft to get from A to B that’s cheap to maintain and run, looking at the prices I can see they are through the roof but need to get something sorted .What do the car experts recommend.
I found a late 08 Ford Focus 1.6 diesel on FB market place for 2K, it was in good nick for its age, I'm getting 54mpg, tax is £30/year and as long as it last me for a year or so I'm be more than happy.

Picanto / i10 / yaris
Not a bad shout, bullet proof those, well in my experience the kia and hyundai are and Toyota have a good rep

Fiesta 1.25 will serve you well. Or a focus 1.6 petrol non turbo. Both cracking engies.

I needed a cheap car to commute when my A4 blew its oil pump and died. Spent £500 on a pretty high mileage Seat Ibiza 07 plate. It was a great little car. Drove brilliantly and only needed new tyres to fly through the mot. Drove it for nearly a year then scrapped it for £300.

You'd get a very nice Exeo for £3,500 - basically/literally a top spec A4 with a different badge
140 or 170BHP Diesels are both good. Avoid the auto though.

Had one of these as a company car years ago but the estate version, the last time I checked online it had done 190k+ miles. It was a pretty basic car, bit crap looking but what a work horse, in the 100k I did in it we only claimed for a CV boot on the warranty

They are mental, agreed. I got a new Dacia Sandero early 2015 which was worth 6k. Gave it to the father in law last year and there's about 40000 miles on the clock, still would easily get 4k for it! Some are going towards 5k!
