Car under 3500

Aye was reading similar but the ower fog lights are led so white light looks stupid on together

It does, I've seen one or two high end cars with the same, looks bloody stupid.

As I've done in the past I've usually changed out the OEM bulbs for something from Phillips or Osram high end brighter bulbs. Now they both make a whiter/LED looking bulb so that may help with the look and better night driving.

Here’s a tip….I’m such a dick….I put fairy liquid in my washers cos that’s what my dad would do twenty years ago in a shitbag sierra. Turns out my Beamer doesn’t like that, so along with £200 to get the brakes through the mot yesterday I also had to pay £60 for them to unblock the washer system. Well done me.

What is it that makes you think Forte products are better than Millers?

Millers Eco Max gets great reviews.
Is that wynn like? I wynn that a few times and no difference, used forte and took for a blast and the improvement is almost immediate

I think I read somewhere that if you get an MOT and the car does not come with original fitted type headlights then its a fail, so no changing out halogen headlights for LED, Xenon or HIDs etc (might be wrong on that).

You are correct, but I've had cars and vans pass MOT's with HID kits on. Not sure how close some MOT stations look but it would be a right fuck about if they failed it and you had to swap back just to pass. Might be worth it if the clearance into the bulb housing is OK, but chances are anything made in the last 20 years is going to be a bastard. Especially if its French

Got the mondeo estate 2010 titanium full ford service history drove it home last night from rochdale lovely to drive on the motorway just cruises, only thing I’ve noticed is the headlights are halogen and look crap and the lower sport fog lights are led looks f***ing stupid can I just change the headlight bulbs or will it need new headlights ?
Congratulations! That's a weight off your mind before Xmas. Hopefully it turns out to be a good find. No idea about the lights!

Good call.
My 2006 Mondeo was the best car I ever had (in its time). Loved it.

On my a4 I had a headlight go and thought it’d be a doddle to change. Checked out a YouTube video and you’re supposed to take out the wheel arch lining and remove the bumper to gain access. Absolutely ridiculous and just a ploy to get people to take the car to the dealers and pay hundreds to replace a £5 part. Managed to do it myself without all the disassembly, but cut my hands to ribbons in the process.

Nissans are like that fords aren’t it’s just 3 screws from the top

Can anyone recommend any good used car dealerships that sell motors for the 3-4k bracket? Looking for something for my soon to be 17 yo. Not sure I can face the lottery of the private ads, a reputable garage that would handle any issues sounds the least stressful option.

Cheers

Most auto trader ads are garages now

Doubt you need to spend that much for a first car but not a bad budget. Can’t recommend anyone but as said above a lot of autotrader ads are dealers.
I’m planning to “ inbetweener” my boy with a yellow fiat panda when the time comes!( better than the actual inbetweener car but not exactly cool)
