Car under 3500

Basically my leaf goes back and need a new car before 7th December! just want something cheap for graft to get from A to B that’s cheap to maintain and run, looking at the prices I can see they are through the roof but need to get something sorted .What do the car experts recommend.

Aygo/C1/108 >12 plate
No tax
50/60mpg
Tyres about £50 each
Brakes cheap
Insurance cheap

Only issues I’ve seen to look out for are make sure no wet floor in front footwells and in boot from leaky seals. Check under car where jacking points are for any corrosion if they’ve been jacked wrong.

look private ad, look full service history, look at mot history checker.

Then put 4k into your budget on Autotrader AND ebay/FBmarketplace and see what comes up.

Ive had a quick look around sunderland and there isnt much so maybe look to travel a little.

Can’t find any

All got massive amounts of miles for the price

My brother got a 12 year old Toyota with full service for around that about six months ago and is going great.
His needed to be auto and was from a dealer so you might be able to do a bit better.

whilst they are good cars, and can last forever, the price usually reflects this. It doesn't reflect the high likelihood of it being ragged by a local yooof, like many Golfs do

If you see a single owner one, with a FSH, bite their hand off

I’d take a walk around an area with affluent old people. The chances are that an almost pristine 10 year old car is on one of their driveways. Make them an offer.

Just had a look on autotrader at cars within 10 miles of Sunderland in the price range £1000 to £3500 and there are hundreds anything from a Focus to a Z4.

I’m quite tempted myself.

Mazda 3…. Bullet proof
There was someone sharing the add to a 2013 plate one on Facebook the other day in the OP’s price range, tried looking today and can’t find the thing for him.

There’s a CAT S one on auto trader at the moment which looks smart.

With all cars there are known problems particularly when they are high selling models as they is a greater volume of information.

If it’s just a cheap runabout for a few months as long as it’s legal most will be ok.

FSH, low miles for the age and really reliable in my experience.

Colour is a bit out there but live a little.
