    please help SMB
The Mrs (pics on here from about 2/3 year ago, good luck) needs four new tyres...
    Currently running 245/35 R19’s

Pretty low profile, but came with the car....she does high mileage, and motorway and they haven’t lasted well..
Do we need like for like or can we get 245/45’s or 50’s I’m guessing that will be a higher profile and not as sporty but will last longer?
    Help!

You will need four of them altogether.

You can whatever profile you want but you'll have to change the wheels so the total diameter remains the same. The 45 or 35 etc is an indication of the percentage of height vs width of the tyre. A 35 profile will mean it's roughly three times as wide as it is high.

I’d personally stick with what’s on but there are comparison calculators in the net that will tell you what alternatives will fit without affecting rolling circumference too much.

Then check black circles which give features of each tyre, Asda tyres for alternative pricing and tyres on my drive for a mobile, no hassle service.

You’d need to be careful because the engine revs will be lower for a given speed - if you increase the profile then your speedo will be reading a lower speed than you’re actually travelling.

  12. Good advice.

Blackcircles.com and avoid the cheapest, its the only thing keeping you on the road

  18. I wouldn't change the size at all just the tyre make if need be. Especially be careful if it's quattro.

Would have thought quicker wear would mean better tyres. Like they'll have more grip.
