I have no idea how his works but I need to hire a car from Rome ciampino and then drop it off at Naples airport a few days later.
Does this cost more? What's a decent company to use as never hired before.
Sarky answers welcome alongside something that may be useful to me!!

You will have to go with a big hire company if you are doing one way rental and there will be a surcharge most likely

You an enter it in booking engine.

Try holidayautos as a starting point to get an idea

Advise to go for the zero excess option. You can usually add this direct when you book but there are insurance companies that offer this as an separate policy.

Never ever ever ever book with Firefly. Ever.

Yes it will cost you more to do a one way hire. We've done it a load of times in Italy. If you get one of the bigger companies, Eurocar, Hertz, Avis etc they will be better in the long run. You'll get charged once to hire the car before you pick it up and I think you'll get charged again when you get there for the one way fee. This confused me the first time it happened but it's normal.

Shop around, some will do a free second driver. Also, buying your own car trip insurance will be cheaper than taking theirs. Google it and get it beforehand for the length of the trip.

Trains are dirt cheap in Italy mind.
