Leading the league with 0 players in the world cup squad and the top scorer, the FA can fuck right off

Same with the BBC tbh

That must be last seasons top scorers as Duggan now plays for City & Everton were relegated!

Mead has 10 goals this season with Duggan & Aluko on 5 each (according to Wiki).

That top goalscorers list is actually from last season and has not been updated by the BEEB.

It says something about Mead though that after 9 games she has already scored 4 more than anyone got last season.

So.. they can actually win the league I take it.
It´s not like the FA ever deducted points or something like that?

Sunderland have won a league in each of the last 4 seasons, so I agree they can do it again.

Can your lot break their duck though or even manage to finish ahead of us for once? You could of course just buy some more of our players if you are struggling;).

They were denied a legitimate promotion 3 times, ffs. We've been screwed over, because a team in the north east had better players, can't be having that.. ..

Well, at least we won a Cup last season.. As for shopping around I think our team have just started to gel actually, but we´ll see how it works out.

Yeah that would be the cup that Sunderland had to play 3 away games and 2 at home in the group.;)

Your lot have to come to us in that this year, so we will see how that goes. I am also planning on going down to the league game at your academy stadium as I like to visit new grounds and I also thought we were very unlucky to lose 1-0 to you in the league at Hetton and the lasses are a lot more confident at this level now. You won't beat them on effort or spirit, so you will have to hope your best players (i.e. the ones who used to play for us) turn up on the day.;)

Another point is that despite winning promotion to the top flight last season while Everton finished bottom of the WSL and got relegated, it was Sunderland who had to enter the FA Cup this year two rounds earlier while Everton got an exemption and ended up in the semi final as a result while Sunderland had to play an FA Cup tie as their first pre season match. How does that work?

Forgot to add that after the 2nd title win, the 'promotion' was to WSL2 which included most of the sides from the same division that we had just won 2 years running.

At least if they do win something, nobody will be able to say, they 'bought it' or that they did not deserve it. The way they have been tret would have made many give up on the whole thing as a bad idea.
The people running WSL could show Blatter a thing or two.

I think you will find the 'paranoia' is due to having to win the premier league three times running to get promotion once while your lot were given it a year earlier after finishing behind us in the league and having never won a league title of any sort. It might also have something to do with the original FA blueprint for the WSL having a map of England on the front that missed off everything North of Doncaster and which was released before the final decision was made on which teams to select. Sunderland were in the top flight on merit in the final season before the new set up and had earned a place on the pitch.

There is still a lot of anger about the way the Ladies team have been treated throughout the formation of the WSL and the fact that 5 of the England team plus Demi Stokes had to leave Sunderland to get top flight football. If all the players currently in the league went back to where they were nurtured, Sunderland would win the thing by a mile. The fact that they are top after 9 matches having lost that amount of talent is remarkable really.

You tell him marra.

Stop winding people up man:lol: You know fine well the FA wouldnt do that............they just deduct promotions instead.

The womens cups seems as byzantine as south-american promotions and relegations.. as for the league it seems like City got two away games followed by three home games, how does that work out?

TBH the better Sunderland ladies do the more I realise that the FA are utterly without shame. My contempt for them continues to increase.
I only get a day and a half at home each weekend, but once that changes I will be following the girls.

The FA is dodgy - that's nothing new. There's no point in getting worked up about something you can't change though. And on the other side of it, as much as they'll seemingly try to 'encourage' everyone to support the so-called 'big' teams by shoving them down our throats, they'll never change me or who I support. I supported SAFC ladies long before there was any media coverage of the ladies game at all. Nothing has changed for me.

BBC reported this morning on Chelsea getting beat yesterday to prevent them going top and again we get no coverage.

Aye there was a throwaway line that 'Sunderland remain top' followed by footage of Chelsea.

Not Beth Mead scoring her 5th goal in 2 games.

Saw that. Made me want us to win the league even more. Would love to see what sort of coverage we'd get.

We wouldn't have won the title.

It would be reported as Chelsea or Man City losing it.
