Can anyone remember Nutella existing before the 1980s?

I can't remember Nutella existing when I was a child in the 70s, it seemed to appear overnight when I was a teen. Wiki claims it has been in production since 1964.

Never even knew chocolate spread existed in the 70s. It was always jam or sugar on our bread.

Aye, might have been a bit earlier than I thought but can't remember it existing for most of the 70s.

I'd buy a little plastic pot of it on the way home from fulwell juniors in the very early 80's and I seem to remember those being fairly new.

Looking back that was obviously a diabolical strategy by ferrero to get kids hooked on 5p hits of the crack cocaine of chocolate so they would nag their mothers into buying half kilo tubs in Hintons.

Aye, late 70s maybe but not in jars. It wasn't here in the 60s though. That must hace been Italy.

Went to Langdale outdoor activities centre (sadly now posh condos so I’m told) in Autumn 1978 and they were in our packed lunches. That’s the earliest I can remember them. Just as pictured above the little sachet thingies with the spoon. We scoffed them down, never thought of putting it on bread.

And even as a self-confessed choc-o-holic now the thought of putting chocolate on bread doesn’t cross my mind.
