Check out what's on offer at Richer Sounds. I got a perfectly adequate Sony for less than a ton.

There is a new Teac one out bt 400 maybe that has a bluetooth or some such thing so you can use remote speakers etc. Richer sounds do them.

If you have a Play 5 you can connect a turntable through that - but make sure the TT has a pre-amp.

Otherwise, you'll need a Connect Amp

Them "suitcase" ones are shit. The sound is tinny and the turntable wobbles all over the place which will damage my records eventually. I'm going to replace it when I get round to it

Either Planar 1 or Project Debut Carbon DC. Remember, as important is a decent amp and pair of speakers. Do not, if you value your vinyl, go anywhere near one of those Crosley's that HMV peddle.
