I’m looking for ideas for a family friendly campsite, I’ve got an 8 year old and a 2 year old. Couple of hours max from Newcastle, thinking up the coast in Northumberland or the lakes but open to ideas.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Used to always go to a place called Wild Rose near Appleby in Westmoreland.

This bad boy. Been a few years but there used to be a mobile chippy come on camp every night, heard a rumour it may be a permanent shop on site now.

Slightly farther at 3hrs but great one just over the boder close to Kirkudbright, Brighouse Bay. Was there last week.
Got the lot, lovely beach, brilliant big play area for bairns, clubhouse and very well kept site.
Probs best we have been on.

Spring Hill farm as you approach Seahouses is good and an excellent base for visits to Bamburgh, Holy Island etc.

Nice place. Been going years to Kirkcudbright. I was there last week too. Fishing at the life boat station.

Used to stay at the three greyhounds in Great Asby, my great auntie lived in a cottage just up the road on the Gaythorne Farm. The pub had an eclectic mix! Beautiful round there though, in a quite bleak moorland kind of way.

Humblebee Farm in flixton near scarborough is great for kids. Chickens and all sorts running around.

South meadows in belford is good as well. Not far from bamburgh and sea houses

The Mrs wants to go to a site in Scarborough or close too ? Any ideas, some of the websites j have looked at are garbage and not the easiest to book. Just need a couple of tent pitches with 1 car.

Mains Farm near Penrith was canny when we went last year. They have camping pods anarl and Lazonby outdoor pool is a 2 minute drive.

South meadows in belford is good as well. Not far from bamburgh and sea houses

I've seen people pitched up right next to the beach between Bamburgh and Seahouses a few year ago, basic bit looked legit and nice spot
