Calories and Macros..

Hi, I’m looking for some help/advice on what calories I should be eating on a cut and what my Macros should be. I’ve been training for around a year but my eating is the thing that lets me down.
I’ve read a few things online but struggling to work it all out.

What is the difference in eating 1000 calories of carrots and 1000 calories of lard? Would you lose weight if you ate 1000 calories of lard per day if you required 2000 calories per day to maintain weight?
