There were some quite prominent posters discussing him in the context of winning 100 caps, being a regular for City in a few years and comparing him to Colin Todd at the same age. It was wild.
everyone was gushing over him as best defender ever

Yes. I get the gushing bit.
Everyone. No. Not me.
Best ever. As i said, Hyperbole.

That reminds me earlier today I was arguing with an American do you pronounce that "Hyperbole" or "Hyperbole" - help appreciated

The best thing he's done recently is that run at the end of the Ipswich game. He committed about 4 Ipswich players and moved the ball into their last third. I'd love to see him carry the ball more, he's a big lad with a bit of pace especially in Cirkins absence.
Sometimes playing it around the back and playing into the midfielders facing our goal in our last third is inviting trouble. Let's play our football in their half

Would play him left back and give the defence some balance. He’s also a very good ball carrier.

Obviously I'd love to see it work but his recovery after being turned/wrong footed is poor to non existent. He's probably too tall and chunky to play at full back. It's a highly specialised position in the modern game, you rarely see full backs with his skill set and frame played there. Mind, injury wrecked again I accept we'll probably have to try it at some point.

Dyce is certainly not at football league level but he’d be a better option at left back for the very reasons you explain. I think Doyle would be turned inside out at left back.

He was superb against Ipswich. Has been dross in other games. He’s 17 and we are reliant on him, not a surprise really that he’s inconsistent

He looked poor there pre season which is probably why he tends to be played further forward now. As above though, we're absolutely crippled by injuries.

A month ago plenty on here thought he was nailed on to play every week for City and hit 100 caps for England.

He is not playing as well lately but he's a 17 year old having his first taste of any sort of meaningful, competitive football in a team that are going through a period of poor form.

I'm sure things will turn again the other way soon.
Going to be a top player. Gets no real protection from CM at the minute. Does look to play the same ball out of defence a fair bit and since Bolton at home teams have picked up on it. I think he’s better alongside Flanagan

He’s not putting decent performances in. He’s the mainstay of a defence that’s conceded 22 goals in 17 league games. He’s not good enough to be playing for a team going for promotion out this league.
He was excellent

It was ridiculous those comments but he was excellent. The criticism he's getting here is pathetic.

The most embarrassing thing is that for the 3rd season in a row we’re without recognised fullbacks to play either side.

Heads should roll for that like. Completely unacceptable.

If it was the first time it had happened it could be justified. However this is the 3rd season in a row we’ve had to use makeshift fullbacks and it’s embarrassing. Clearly an issue somewhere, whether is recruitment or medical.
Yes as they are injured. Huggins and cirken are full backs and we re signed hume. There's 3. Just shame all injured😂
