Apparently in English call centres you are given names like Rachid/Imran for when Indian people call up

Fell into call centre work by accident 13 years ago. Did 2 years on tbd phones, grafted me arse off, did 2 yrs as TL, then 3 yrs as ops manager and progressed further into various senior support roles

Love the job, if you're prepared to work hard, are resilient and get into a good company then the rewards can be fantastic

Ran various Call Centres for 10 years until I switched careers a couple of months back. Like most on here have stated:

Good money for those who are prepared to work hard.
Plenty of progression for the above
Dogs abuse from the public
Loads of fit lasses

i work in a call centre at the moment, money is really good but i hate it.
long hours, stupidly busy, understaffed and because your not dealing with them face to face, people seem to think they can talk to you like shit.

Did it for about 9 months and hated it. Shit hours, repetitive, boring, usually very busy where I worked (call after call hour after hour), zero chance of "progression" from what I could see and out of around 250 people who worked there I could count the number of fit lasses on one hand.

The only good thing about it was that it inspired me to go to uni and I haven't looked back since.
