not sure we really needed to give big steve a reason to be even more disgruntled

They can both leave as far as I'm concerned. Steve has been a great servant but I'm not sure he contributes much now as he always seems to be injured, and when he does play he gets carted about. Ben has never been good enough and it might be said that if it wasn't for his brother he would have been released years ago.

Agreed.

Coetzer & Davies (sadly too injury prone) will also be leaving I reckon.

would be a poor decision to release steve harmison, assuming he wants to stay after seeing his brother shunned. [deservedly so imo mind you]

our once devastating bowling attack is beginning to look poor now, claydon out of form, davies out of fitness, onions possibly back into the england fold before too long, thorp not getting any younger, plunkett similar to harmison at the moment looking hopeless with the ball but absolutely unplayable on their day.

need to get plunkett and s. harmison back to their best to be a force IMO

With the age of our senior bats, (Colly, Diva and Benks), I wonder if the time is right to bring in a young, hungry and ambitious overseas bat for the full summer next year?

on the face of it Koetzer and Harmy junior just arent good enough

Davies was top of the first class bowling averages two seasons running not so long ago

Davies was also in the lions setup a couple of winters ago. It's a shame like cos he's a really nice bloke anarl.

I reckon Northants will sign Coetzer and he will score shit loads in lvcc 2 next season if they don't get promoted.

stoneman, stokes and borthwick all young. im hoping wood and richardson prove themselves good enough to get regular games

stoneman, smith, stokes, blackwell, mustard, richardson, borthwick, wood,

obviously it looks as suspect as it does strong, much like our lineup now, all out for under 200 just as likely as 500 declared

Coetzer's not expecting to at Durham next season from what I hear. Big shame, after his contribution towards the FPTrophy success in 2007 I had high hopes for him.

Ben Harmison I won't miss, over the past two seasons I felt having him bat at 3 stunted our progress with his slow scoring rate.

GBH can go aswell, he's pathetic, always injured, and whinges about it on sky sports when he's commentating!

I've not witnessed it but I've heard he's apparently shortened his run up to try to prolong his career. If this is the case, with Harmys need of rhythm it can't be doing him any favours with his radar. Think its time hes put out to pasture myself.

Ben Harmison is the classic 'bits and pieces' cricketer. What disappointed me most was, for a bloke who was 6' 4", he could barely get the ball over the boundary. His bowling got better but I always though he lacked mental toughness and application. Must run in the family.................

Reckon we need an overseas bat next year.

Time for Mike's return I think. He did leave half way through a 2 year contract I seem to recall.

Ben Harmisons just a charva, he had a lot of promise but just didnt come on enough (He would still offer DCCC more than Gordon Muchall imho though).

Tim Wellock obviously gets a lot of inside info but doesnt let much out - IE only a brief comment as to Steve Harmisons tantrums because of his younger brother not being involved as much as he'd like.

This. I could never grasp how someone who was early 20s, 6ft4, and with a sound bowling action couldn't bowl any quicker than 80mph or get the ball up around the batsmans head and make them jump about...

If they'd brought in one of these to bat in the top 3 this season we'd have won the league imho. SURELY there has to be a canny overseas batter available for not huge money who would come in, be available all summer and score 1,000 in the 4 day format and chip in for limited overs matches.

Davies is top class on his day but his injury record is horrific, I cant think of a cricketer worse? Kyle Coetzer is a far better batsman than Will Smith or Gordon Muchall but he's always been the fallguy imho, he will easily score 1000 next season for Northants imho.
