Buying Tickets for the match -WTF ?

Why can’t you believe it?
Because it's a right faff on tbh. It's difficult to believe that people buying the wrong ticket has become a big enough problem that the club need to make it difficult to buy tickets to combat it.

Better than people staying away and watching it on dodgy streams though I suppose.

Yep I set up a kids account to buy the 4 kids tickets. I'm sure here when you scan at the turnstile it shows up whether it's an adult or kids ticket and it's generally policed at the turnstile.
Sorry I missed your earlier reply - I am glad that you sorted it.

It’s quite easy to bypass the disinterested stewards, not that I’ve ever been guilty of it ….

I was going to have to sort out 2 extra tickets for the PNE match as we’ll be in the area, but it was a lot of hassle and we’ve decided to watch it on TV instead.

Does it depend on the age for the ticket as to whether you need to create a separate account? My dad bought an U16 ticket for my son and didn't need to create an account for him, all 3 of us were down as his account.

If I owned a football club and read this it would make my blood boil.

They should be making it as easy as possible to attend.

The problem was that 2 other people aren’t SAFC fans but part of the family group. One is an OAP the other under 18. They live at different addresses, different emails etc.

Plus the OAP isn’t very mobile. It’d have been a pain, not all the club’s fault.

I think the post from @joop was more aimed at the non football side of the club being a shit show for a while now rather than a dig at the OP.
Exactly, sometimes it seems it would be more unbelievable if it was easy to buy a ticket. I know not everyone has problems but a significant proportion of fans do.

Not sure why any of that is an issue tbh. You shouldn’t have to be a fan of the club you want to watch.

Tbh TV was my preference. It's everyone else that wanted to go.

Update : I had to register my 11 year old daughter with my second email address and add her to my ticketing network so she could buy the 4 kids tickets and I bought the 5 adults. What a shambles. I've read the numerous ticketing threads over the last couple of years and not really appreciated the gravity of how un-user friendly it is. I do now. Cheers for the replies lads and lasses. Looking forward to seeing my first league win in 30years. They've never won any league match I've been to, in the time I've lived in Australia.

Had a similar issue myself til a very kind poster on here helped out.

Decades of purchase history including this season, not to mention countless online orders from the club shop - it’d take 2 mins to confirm that I’m a Sunderland supporter.

It’s going to be big issue for exiles this Christmas. Never known anything like it in over 20 years of living away.

Can’t wait to see the mess of when the mag tickets go on sale 😂
It will be like that day when they all registered for the famous season ticket lockout. To boast amongst themselves about how long the queue is and register for a ticket that most won't take up once available.

I was forced to create one for the nipper for the Crewe game. The retarded system sent an adult ticket to her and a child ticket. So had to queue up at the ticket office to get paper tickets as it couldn't be fixed.
