I am going to pop the question on holiday next month!!

Anything to watch out for when buying. What would you spend? Any tips for buying or anything I should know?!!

No pics!!!

Just one tip.............absolutely imperative, whatever you do you must never forget, ever, ever, ever, on the pain of death........................

To drive at less than 100mph

I know going to take me twice as long to get to the shops tomorrow now:evil:

should never buy THE ring until she has said yes..... then she can pick

Well I know and agree! we have looked together and I have a good idea what she likes so am fairly confident I won't mess it up!!

Congratulations. Diamond in White gold is boring.

Does she wear gold or silver usually? Is she dark or fair skinned? Hair colour?

Necessary info.

Another strategy is to get a joke £1 ring from Claire's Accessories and hoy it on her finger then gan shopping to get the real one. Mind you'll be dragged around 5 shops, 3 times in each and then she'll gan back and choose the first one she saw. But that's lasses for you....

just collect the vouchers in the sun marra to get a free replica of the royal wedding ring....alas saving you from needing to get married....genius mate...genius

i did the deed totally out the blue, in london, with a jelly ring in a card. she fooking loved it and she's still got the card (with the jelly ring) but then picked a proper. (think it only cost 1300 in the end).

She wants white gold and diamond or Moissinite!! (what else did you have in mind) dark brown hair, fair skin

Does not wear a too much jewelery and wants something fairly practical, wants it to be shiny.

My original idea was similar to that. However she has hinted she wants a surprise that I choose and then pretty much made a point of showing me designs she likes ever since

Ignore her, women change their look all the time, will she want a new ring if she dyes her hair.

What a pile of shite.

As she is clearly a Chav start as you mean to go on and override her wrong headedness and buy her something personal and tasteful. When her moue of ignorant disappointment bubbles up dump her for being shallow.

I'd agree with previous posters who said go with the 'fake ring' option unless youre 100% sure of her tastes ... Us birds are proper fussy about this sort of stuff and she'll be wearing it forever hopefully !

Give her a haribo ring - I'd love that :-D

Teaches me to read just first page ... A months salary is the guide ;0)
