That sounds like the start of a cheesy plot outline of a guy who dreams of a Mustang his entire life, treats everyone like a bastard in an attempt to scare up the money to get the one he dreams of, and then only finally gets one shortly after (a) repenting his ill behavior, (b) coming into just barely enough money to buy a Mustang, and (c) being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

I used to have a GTI Charade in gun metal grey, was lovely but swapped it for a big transit van for my band.
