I have been a few times. I really enjoyed it.
I gave Luxor a swerve as I don't agree with the treatment of the pyramids etc

I love Hurghada for a good relaxing break though.

I travelled around Egypt back in March, and to be honest it was really good. Although the locals are pretty exhausting.

Always wanted to visit the place purely to see the landmarks etc, but nothing’s worth risking your safety to say you’ve seen it.

Went there myself a few Years ago not that long after an explosion in Sharm and also enjoyed it. Took a bus up to Cairo which was far too long a journey tbh. Enjoyed the Pyramids but most of the treasures are now in the Museum. Chitzen Itza in Mexico is a far better site to visit and view--especially if you go and see the ball game brought to life at another site which is more of a "theme park" Xcaret iirc
