Bury FC

Can someone please explain how this new group at Bolton, Northern Ventures or something, are going to be able to fund it and run it. None of the guys are minted.
Say Bolton get 12000 (generous I know) paying average of 15 quid (maybe a bit ott) , that's 180k that has to last 2 weeks.
Say a squad of 20 on an average of 700 each per week that's 28k per fortnight.
Then add rates, stadium match day staffing costs, manager, asst manager, physio, ticket office staff, utilities, taxes, costs of running reserves and youth squads (maybe they won't bother??) plus a raft of other incidentals and it just doesn't make sense to get involved.
If it happens, good luck to them, but I have my doubts.

Don't know if anyone's thought of this....if Bury are expelled and Bolton survive league one ends up with twenty three teams so on each round of fixtures someone would get the day off. How would they protect the integrity of the competition (is the phrase they use) on the last day? Bury's final fixture is against Fleetwood so the latter would have no game as their fixtures would be complete. No problem if they were safe in mid table and not going up or down, but could leave a situation where other teams would have the advantage of knowing what they had to do to potentially cost Fleetwood promotion or a playoff place, or relegate them, with nothing Fletwood could do about it.

Has that not happened to us in the past on more than one occasion, going into the last day of the season? (not about a missing club or fixture)

Who sold the club to this chancer? And what about due diligence etc? Can the decision to sell to him not be legally overturned?
Why should anyone be allowed to make a profit out of the demise of a football club?

The previous chancer (Day). The question you need to ask is who sold the club to them, and why.
The EFL will make an announcement tomorrow, so I'm guessing Bury have until lunchtime or something.

Deadline is 5pm today.

C’mon Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Sunderland, Newcastle, Aston Villa and the rest of the "massive clubs"… put your hands in your wallets or are you all just full of shit?

There are two historic football clubs – Bury and Bolton Wanderers – in imminent danger of dying, why aren’t the “big” clubs helping them out?

Thanks, Margaret.

Hopefully the EFL can now implement a surcharge on transfers that deliver a slush fund to help clubs out, its in the premier leagues best interests to keep clubs going as its the very breeding ground for players to develop and move on to the bigger clubs that keeps them competative in Europe...
