The point that Liverpool lost to Galatasary and 3-0 to Hull. You were saying that pre seasons count so much, and that a good team should easily beat a team below them, even in a friendly. Liverpool lose to Gala and 3-0 to Hull, teams that are probably worse than the team we lost to in Germany and are losing to now in the Championship, and did so playing a good number of players who will be in and around the first 11 this season, just like we have.

So if that's right, then we'll do better than Liverpool this season aye?

I responded to that point. Liverpool did not field their first eleven in either of the two games you mentioned.

I also added that Liverpool had a fantastic second half of the season and since finishing the season have brought in some quality players. I'm unsure how you could compare us to Liverpool. They'll be head and shoulders above us next season. I'll be surprised if we make minimal progress, if any at all.

Many friendly tournaments do have trophies.......

Ok.....some do......a bad point to make.

What i'm getting at is, the games are being used as a dry run for the season. We're getting more out of trying out different strategies against live opposition then we are sticking the strongest 11 out every game in order to rack up as many goals as we can. The underlying purpose is to practice and ready ourselves for the season kicking off.

You can butter it up however you like... ;)

It's ok mate, cos, the thing is you see, Liverpool have to butter up worse things than we do, so at the end of all the buttering, we will have more butter than them, and so have a butter...sorry BETTER season.

Carroll
Henderson
Downing
Adam
Carragher
Maxi Rodriguez
Kuyt
Spearing

all played at least 45 minutes against Hull.

It was a friendly. Couldn't give a shit. As long as no one gets injured that's the important thing.

Ps - what was the score ?!

wont be many sides score less than us agian this season ,

How do you suggest we get fit then, by not playing at all?

:lol::lol::lol:

So after several pre-season games and undergoing rigourous training regimes we are still not fit and we're struggling to score goals against poor opposition.

The season starts in only a couple of weeks time

One positive from this game, Ji put himself about a bit.

He has in every game he's played. He's still yet to score.

I know it is only pre season, but the lack of goals is a worry for me

Can't see how anyone is suprised tbh. We've not yet addressed the problem on the left and we're not really better on the right. We will lack any cutting edge from midfield and will again rely on getting the ball upfront and Gyan and Sess doing something with it.

I'm not reacting because of one or two pre-season results, it's been this way for a while and it's just the way it is.
