]Look mate, like I said before. You can butter it up however you like [/B]but to me we're going to be in for a shock and next season is going to be tougher than last (unless we bring in some quality players before the deadline ends).

I can see us struggling against Liverpool and the mags and then desperately trying to sign some players before the window closes.

Burnley are an average Championship side, it's only a friendly but even with the pressure off we still can't sufficiently compete against a poor side. We've failed to be convincing in every game so far this pre-season.

I wonder how long we're saying this before he actually scores for us.

This is your standard reply when someone has made a decent point you cant argue with

Sometimes, reading the football board on here requires a brown paper bag to breathe properly!

I'm not sure everyone on here get's the purpose of pre-season friendly matches? The clue is, there isn't a cup awarded at the end of it.

Surely the massive erratic changes in the squad, not only from one game to another, but during the match is a sign that they are used to 'test' out different formations and tactics in a 'live' environment before the season starts. This is especially important, considering the amount of new players we have in the squad and the trouble we were in last seasoon with injuries when we were forced to play people out of position, but only having the matches themselves to find out if they actually worked or not.

Chill Winston(s)!!

It's the sort of tough test we need at this stage of pre-season and it sounds like we're getting a right work out at Burnley. Hopefully, it will up the tempo for the next couple of weeks before Liverpool. This is how pre-season's work FFS.

What are you on about mate? Pre-season is over. THIS is the season. We definitely do not have 2 more pre-season games left at all.

I'm not convinced that we are stronger now than at the same time last season.

We are not scoring goals against poorer opposition.

What point was that?

The point that Liverpool lost to Galatasary and 3-0 to Hull. You were saying that pre seasons count so much, and that a good team should easily beat a team below them, even in a friendly. Liverpool lose to Gala and 3-0 to Hull, teams that are probably worse than the team we lost to in Germany and are losing to now in the Championship, and did so playing a good number of players who will be in and around the first 11 this season, just like we have.

So if that's right, then we'll do better than Liverpool this season aye?

Leyton Orient 6 - 1 Ne=%*stle, PROOF that pre-season means NOWT.... un-twist ya knickers ya tart !

simply a run-around, trying out moves, players, combo's etc with no conviction...practice at best.
