Building a new team / squad with nominal funds

It's looking likely we aint going to have much money to spend so we are going to have to cobble together a team with free transfers, loans & small fee's.

I think the likes of Pickford, Defoe, Borini, Mannone, Papy, Kone will be gone for fee's.

I'd look the build the squad as follows:

I think that lot would give us a decent chance of getting back up. Let's be honest not the most earth shattering squad of players but we have to cut our cloth accordingly...

We cannot expect to get superstars & above I feel is mixture of youth / experience...

I'm sure they're other players we could get & I'm not saying the above is the best selection but I think it would give us a chance on a small budget...

Depends on who they bring in in he summer. He's just had a big injury as well which will push him down the order. Some time out on loan will help his rehabilitation

Huntelaar is slightly audacious, but he's 33 and out of contract. It might be the best payday left for him.

Think he will have better options. He will want a decent wage as well. Could be a decent signing for Brighton or one of the other promoted sides

Assombalonga went to Forest for about 8 mill so they won't let him go for half that. It would be no different to us selling Pickford for half his value because we are skint

The quality you would have to add to that squad to stay in the premier league is huge. So a no from me.

So from such a huge squad.. we have 2 crap keepers and a kid who has never played, 7 full backs, 2.5 centre backs (O'Shea is finished) and the same useless central midfielders from this season? The forward line would struggle in the Championship too.

Easily doable and with keeping Pickford.
I'd prefer to get rid of Jones and Rodwell and replace them with better and possibly look to get a better creative midfielder in. But that team is packed with the "young, hungry" players that this board are screaming out for and should be able to play a high pressing game.
Flint might be a bit slow to play too high a line, so he can be replaced.
