Wanting to do something is not a modern thing is it?
But a drive to do something before you die - eg " kick the bucket" is a modern "thing to do".

Mine pretty much all revolve around sporting events, I’m steadily ticking them off but a lot more to do. I also have some countries in mind to visit and I’m getting through them as well, that’s life isn’t it?
