It's clear that they have mixed up sunderland station with st peters.
Why would they send the spare buses to station street which is the street near sunderland station.
I'm at work tomorrow (Metro) so I'll ask what the crack is with those 2 extra trains.Wasnt any direct trains last year I got on the first metro, they only let about 30 on and it stopped every stop. Nice to hear we are actually getting direct metros and train. Not sure about the st peters announcement like, why state they leave from their then say spare buses will leave from the centre. Strange

The free buses are not horrendous at all. Straight there, straight into the stadium virtually dropped at the turnstiles. Straight on the bus and away afterwards. Ideal for anyone with families, elderly, disabled or just wanting a trouble-free day.
No one knew what to expect last season or how things would pan out. Next week however, everyone knows the score and what to expect. There will be a lot more trouble IMO.
the buses the last few years have been spot on. before that they were terrible and i think that's what pissed a lot of folk off and on to using other means of getting there.
can't remember which match it was but we waited for an hour on them before we started moving one year. some pillock had the bright idea of parking them facing down barrack road so we had to wait for the polis to clear the mags before we could set off. whoever decided to have the buses facing the wrong way should be sacked.
another year the 1231 was closed westbound so we had to go via whitemare pool roundabout and travelled about 3mph all the way. followed the same route in reverse on the way back even though the 1231 was open eastbound.
after that it was no wonder people got pissed off with them but they can only go where the bobbies tell them.
personally i enjoy the buses, it's good crack and nice to see how the other half live in cowgate.
a couple of years ago me and the mrs went up in the car as my mam was ill and might have needed to get away. parked up at the civic centre and walked through leases park, out the gate where the buses park and in with no problems. after the game we had to look a little bit sad till we got back and it was like that scene with rodney and del boy in the car rocking and cheering.
fwiw i think the police would love for there to be major trouble and pin the blame on sunderland. they must hate it that it's always their lot causing bother.

What was confusing about walking along side by side? I wasn't confused that I was walking along next to Mags. There was no serious disorder because 99% of people don't want it.Exactly what I said confusion was what stopped a bit disorder last time
Used them last year and agree. Not sure what they were like before as first time used them.No as I'm sure others would testify they're much better. In and out hassle-free. Ideal, for those birth bairn's and families.

Personally I didn't see anything at all apart from the usual gesturing from people who don't actually want any trouble. I never said nothing happened though. I know people who's accounts are similar to yours. There are scuffles when there's a full on escort. Unfortunately, a small number of people will always get involved in things. I just don't go along with this confusion thing of last year and that this year will be worse because the confusion won't be there. Those who never got involved in anything last year didn't get involved in anything because they were confused, it's because they didn't want to be involved in any violence. Those who did get involved in various bits got involved because they wanted to not because they were confused. So, you didn't see the two flattened within minutes of us arriving (behind the Town Wall)? I take it you also didn't see the old fella get a sly one from a prick who was pretending to be one of ours, before hiding behind the copper. What about the little twat who was centimetres from us on the corner of the Shark Bar after thr game saying he'd knock anyone of us out, then got a dig himself before another who of there's got flattened over the road next to that Dance place?
There was also bother when ours walked along from the Haumarket pre game and down Bath Lane after.
Therefore, a lot more contact than of late
Dragged arl, ower just to kill time and went various routes. Straightforward now - stilled seemed funny getting off the bus and walking to the away end among some of them in the "friendly derby"Used them last year and agree. Not sure what they were like before as first time used them.
Club statement now, also says trains only st peters and central.
