That's not what I said at all but you clearly have an agenda so crack on.

Hold on i said, usual unorganised queue, coppers dont let anyone on the metro (like every year) then everyone on the bus.

You said people are sick of waiting for the metro, getting wet ect they will get on the bus.

No agenda just talking sense

There will be trouble this time, especially if Sunderland win ........ there always is.

The walk back to the station will be dodgy and the police will be part of the cause if people are attacked.

It's too easy to allow everyone to do as they please then blame them, we all know there are people on both sides who'd be pleased to be in a punch up.

It should be half time entertainment, let the fuckers fight it out in the centre circle, no innocents involved

The Mags wouldn't make it to the centre circle ........ they didn't when they invaded during the play off

They were scrambling for the doors in 1969 when they played Rangers, cant find any footage, my mate at the time (Rangers lad) said one of their lads was waving a sword around his head

The "direct trains" may be slower than the buses but there are other metros and train services on the day.

I left St James at the same time as everyone last season and jumped straight on a metro at Central (along with plenty other SAFC fans) and was back in Sunderland 15 minutes before the buses arrived at The SoL.

If there isn't an official escort then they can't tell you which service to use.

I will be doing exactly what I did last year and making my own way to the metro before and after the match.

No one knew what to expect last season or how things would pan out. Next week however, everyone knows the score and what to expect. There will be a lot more trouble IMO.

I think so too. The Mags will have had time to plan some sort of attack as they know routes/times our fans will be arriving and how many Police there will be.

It is a long walk to SJP and a few potential flashpoints on the way if the troublemakers want to try anything.

That was one benefit of the escort. The Mags would never dare try anything as there were too many of us even if they got past the old bill.

I think walking back is a walk in the park regardless as all Sunderland fans leave together. Its the walk to the ground where the mags would look to pick off smaller isolated groups where there could be an issue (they tried it where we were after last years, near the dog and parrot).

They let us out in single file last year i remember so everyone is spread out.

There hasn't been any true bother between us and them since Bath Lane and the Fish Quay, this will be no different lots of posturing and Norhumbria Police will have it sewn up. Don't know why people worry

This won't happen. Last year ther could have been mass disorder if people had wanted to. Thankfully most people don't want it. Nothing to do with not knowing what was going on or not knowing what to expect. More to do with the fact that anyone involved in disorder will be either caught there and then or caught on CCTV. The average fan doesn't want to do jail time for a daft fight. There'll be a little scuffle here and there but there won't be any "planned attacks"

Cool. I thought it worked well. But others, who ended up getting into fights might not agree.

Very scarce, just the odd Geordie full of bluff and thunder. The Police were in straight away to nab them. The whole event last year was very relaxed and apart from the positive result, pleasurable. In a way I think it backfired for the police, coz there is nothing more they would like is to herd us in and out like cattle.

There is bias because it is policed differently. Absolute nonsense to suggest otherwise. Having personal safety at the heart of the police plan would certainly come up with a different solution than they have. Something else is at the heart of the plan here. I don't know what but establishing a clinical solution in the long term might be it. At Sunderland it is clinical. Easy to police and very safe for travelling NUFC supporters. At Newcastle none of those things are true.
Last year I saw sporadic scuffles and luckily most lads could handle themselves and did so easily but no arrests were made that I saw for those aggressors. It looked like the instruction was to step in as quickly as possible and move them on. Where's the deterrent in that? There isn't one. Some find the prospect of being attacked abhorrent and they tend to go on the bus but if 1200 or so travel in dispersed groups by train/metro then the police can not let their safety be threatened. In the current plan it is, even if that's just a kick or a punch. I think the police have got it wrong. I think they are biased in their planning. I think they want no metro/train travel from us on derby day.
