I enjoy Vic Marks' understated humour and his knowledge of the game is second to none. I always felt he was underrated and occasionally underappreciated as a cricketer too having been in such an extraordinarily great Somerset team at the time.

Overall I think the BT Sport commentary has been okay. Not good but okay. Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist have been excellent additions. There's something about Michael Vaughan that annoys me, a sort of 'I told you so' attitude when things went wrong. I don't remember Alison Mitchell's commentary so I guess she was inoffensive to my ears.

I did get pissed off when they seemed more interested in showing her on top of the roof at Adelaide or Perth or wherever than the cricket itself and there were times it seemed more like a Cricket Australia broadcast than a British one. It was alright overall, though, and Boycott and Anderson the other night "chatting" about the series was brutally good entertainment.

Thought the aussies were decent additions to be fair, Slater, Gilly, Ponting, even Brett Lee. Know what you mean about Vaughan though, Something just a little bit "off " about him at times
 

I was so fed-up with Vaughan and Swann that I sent an e-mail to BT saying so. This is their reply:

"Thanks for taking the time to contact us.
BT Sport has selected talent based on their relationship with and knowledge of the game; along with the expertise that they will bring to our coverage. It's disappointing to hear that you feel this way about these particular commentators, consequently I have passed your comments on to our broadcasting department.
We take all viewers comments and feedback seriously as we want to ensure we deliver the best possible service to all of our customers.
We hope you continue to enjoy all that BT Sport has to offer.

So nowt will happen there.

It's widely acknowledged anyway that football pundits are in the main absolutely shit.

I can only think of maybe one or two I enjoy listenening to. Souness is about the best IMO.

Then, onto cricket, for me it's widely acknowledged that cricket pundits are in the main very good. Agnew, Boycott, Marks, Mann, Tufnell, Smith, Norcross, Botham, Atherton, Gower, Hussain, Lloyd, Holding, Willis, Butcher, the list goes on. So so many great pundits. It's the reverse to football, whereby it's harder to think of shit ones. That is, I suppose until BT got hold of the rights.......

Even Warne makes some good points. Problem is, once he's got one he doesn't shut up making the same point for at least a f***ing session.

What were you expecting them to say?

Dear customer

We agree that the gob shite Yorky and bottling geordie wannabe are utter chod and in light of you bringing your displeasure to our attention, we will henceforth continue with the following changes: each tea break, either Swann and Vaughn will be thrown off a high rise building or be beheaded on the outfield. The result will will decided on a viewer vote, using the red button

In the meantime we’ve employed legside lizzy to do expert summarising and given additional commentary slots to Allison Mitchel (whom your complaint makes no mention)
