BT Complaints

I absolutely hate listening to Alison Mitchell’s drivel. Always seems far too enthusiastic toward Australia, and she hasn’t a f***ing clue what she’s talking about. I try to mute it when she’s on.

The BT coverage is amateur hour, absolutely zero analysis of the game. The banter is just painful.

Far too many Aussies for it being broadcast to the uk only too.

Steady marra, the forum feminists will be along shortly to have a go at you.......

On a slightly related note who's next in line for BBC cricket correspondent's job when Aggers decides he's had enough....Ed Smith, Simon Mann ?

I think Norcross is made for it, Smith and Mann would be excellent too though.

You know who'll get it though

Just pointing out feel for the lass.

I've watched this ashes without listening much to commentary. Fast forward between the balls.

You feel for her? She's getting paid absolutely thousands to watch the whole Ashes Series . Whilst consequently, ruining it for thousand of others .

If you say you fast forward between the balls, then you'll endure a similar experience to me - the only voice I hear is hers - cause she's the only fuckwit who talks during deliveries

BT sport has been utter crap I don’t wanna hear any of them. So all much of a muchness for me.

I just meant that not her fault she’s not a cricketer. BT sport shouldn’t have put a non cricketer on comms.

Yeah she’ll be getting paid well doubt it’s as much as Swann who I wish had fucked off home after the first day in Brisbane.

I mean I liked gilly but he’s seemingly been vanished since the BBl started

Mind a commentator ruining the ashes for thousands is a load of crap:lol:

The commentators are background noise, the shit cricket from England has ruined it

Anyone saying a commentator has ruined it is being a bit dramatic

Everytime she comes on commentary I have to mute it, thus losing the crowd and effects noise - it's ruined completely my viewing experience.

The cricket and England's performance has been shite, but is anyone surprised? Going off the team picked? It's still possible to enjoy good cricket whilst we're getting beat, it isn't possible however to enjoy good commentary when she's on the mic.

I've quite enjoyed the BT Coverage. Granted it's not Sky but they have built their style and rapport up over years of coverage. I think BT have done a decent job. Contrary to the view on here I think Mitchell is actually pretty knowledgable and does a great job.

I agree.

There are some boring obsessives on here.

She’s certainly nowhere near as bad as some people say

With BT though it’s just second rate from start to finish. There’s no real analysis of technique, where people score, bowling plans etc

The commentary consists of Swann attempting to be funny, boycott talking about when he played the Aussies trying to hard not to gloat at the fact they’ve murdered us, and Alison Mitchell’s mind numbing shite. I’ve absolutely no idea what she brings to the table, she’s clearly not an expert. She can’t analyse the game at all, and she loves it when the Aussies do well.

Absolutely can’t wait for it to get back to the proper commentary team, the BT attempt to cover the ashes with this rag tag bunch of shite has been pathetic.

For BT the Ashes like football was supposed to be just about getting broadband customers. It was never about bringing quality broadcasting to air.

She is the one element of both radio and TV coverage that I just can't stand. I'm not a Boycott or even Vaughan fan, but they give their views from the perspective of someone who knows the game. I know this may be seem as sexist but I'm listening now to Ebony Rainford-Brent contributing to the radio broadcast when it's raining and she is very good.
Yes, I agree about Ebony, she knows her stuff being an actual cricketer and I find her analysis interesting and insightful. As for Mitchell, she just boils my piss. Her qualification for this can only be that her mother is apparently Australian.

As for Swann, the Aussies seem to lap him up and think he's the new Rory Bremner/Mike Yarwood.

Don't think I've seen a ball live this series, just stuck with TMS which has been excellent as ever.

I've developed a worrying liking for Glenn McGrath though...

Atherton and Warne are the best by a long, long way. BT Sport have to pick up the dregs. Gilchrist was excellent though.

Atherton aye, Warne not for me.

Atherton, Hussain and Lloyd the top three. None of the BT lot would get a look in on Sky

Warne, when he's talking about bowling.

But he was right on Cook when he was having problems with captaining the side and took stick for it, Warne took stick I mean. Then he recognised when Cook was starting to get it right too.

Ponting was good when he was over here before.

Warne gave Cook stick almost constantly. There was a semi-personal agenda there as well.

Warne's masterclasses are outstanding mind.

He's actually a really great addition. Incredibly knowledgeable, humble, quite humorous and above all he comes across as an absolutely cracking bloke. I'd actually be more than happy if he was on all the time - even when we aren't playing Australia.

I genuinely dislike Swann the most. Be it his banter or the fact that football is his default chat. He tries too f***ing hard to be a “lad” and he’s a cock.

Add Pietersen to that as well, and Vaughan at times.

All 3 are worse than Mitchell in my eyes who isn’t great but is pretty inoffensive

It's his impressions that get me the most. When he stops trying the bantz and talks about the cricket he's not too bad.

Pietersen on the other hand, is a complete and utter moron. I was watching the Big Bash the other day with him on the mic... At the start of the over he was talking about knocking the ball around for ones and keeping the scoreboard ticking over and how that was essential in the middle overs, not 2 minutes later and during the same over, he started going on about how you had to hit boundaries and just knocking it about for ones wasn't enough during the middle overs. Absolute cretin who says the first thing that crawls into his tiny mind.
