Don’t go ruining a good thread with realityHe’s going back to Lyon
I love the optimism on here…..It's going to be someone shite
Génésio was a great manager at OL before. If Stéphan hadn’t just returned to Rennes to much aplomb he’d have been my BHH pick, but I don’t see him leaving Rennes after 3 games (sadly). A very vocal section of the fan base are asking for Pierre Sage to remain beyond the interim which could be interesting as BG would be looking for work and put him within our sights, but perhaps Sage should even be our target. He’s made no secret of his managerial aspirations…BG inherited a good team from the lad who built it: Julian Stephan. He’d won their first trophy and took them to their highest ever league finishing position. He’d then fallen out with the owners and for some reason jumped ship/ got sacked and joined Strasbourg ferchrissakes where he didn’t last long. He left Rennes around the time KLD took ower at SAFC and maaaaaaaaaan was I getting excited.
Stephans dad works in the French national teams set up at their equivalent of St Georges Park and probably gets to see the cream of their yoof at close quarters. Stephans been my hope for a long long time now.
Cheers. I didn’t know JS had gone back! Been ower busy to watch a French football or it’s goings on recently. BG must surely be on KLDs radar though even a struggling Lyon must be more preferable for BG. As you say PS may be a contender.Génésio was a great manager at OL before. But it’ll probably be Steve Bruce![]()
Heard it’s a young foreign coach.
EH!!!!!!!! Are any of the four strikers he's signed an improvement on Stewart????????????Every appointment that Speakman has made has been an improvement on the previous one. But please don’t let me spoil your misery xx
Looking at the betting odds it’s worse than thatIt's going to be someone shite
The first one he appointed was useless (Johnson) so a low bar to start with and whilst the subsequent two were good managers, he fell out with them both due to rigidity of "the model" which ultimately led to them both going. That's not exactly a good record.Every appointment that Speakman has made has been an improvement on the previous one. But please don’t let me spoil your misery xx
Never heard of him.
BHH.

Yes , They can walkEH!!!!!!!! Are any of the four strikers he's signed an improvement on Stewart????????????
With the squad we were handed; yes.Was Mowbray an improvement on Neil?
He was appointed off the back of Parkinson wasn’t he? An immeasurable improvement. The first one he appointed was useless (Johnson) so a low bar to start with and whilst the subsequent two were good managers, he fell out with them both due to rigidity of "the model" which ultimately led to them both going. Yep. Each appointment has moved us on up incrementally. He was appointed off the back of Parkinson wasn’t he? An immeasurable improvement.
Haway man, everyone knows you ‘appoint’ your strikers.Same, he's going to be unreal
That makes no sense and you know it
Agreed, my feelings are that I’m sad to see Mowbray go but it presents a great opportunity for us to now progress further with the right appointment - an upgrade on Mowbray.Yep. Each appointment has moved us on up incrementally.
The next appointment has to be someone to take us up.
I've a feeling it'll be someone under 50, foreign and a good track record working in a similar(ish) setup abroad. Equally as important it'll be someone hungry as **** to succeed in English football long term at one club looking at what the likes of Thomas Frank, De zerbi etc have achieved.

I agree with the type of coach we’ll be after except maybe the age thing. If it is an older coach with a modern approach then I don’t think they’d discount him. I don’t think we’ll get him but take someone like Knutsen for examples.
