Brucie bonus... or Fergie’s riches?

I honestly find all of this a bit strange. If Welbeck was a S'land player he would be being linked extensively in the press with a move to Man Utd. Everyone would be saying that he is just the type of player Fergie likes (especially with the new UEFA rules coming in) and that they will make a move for him in Jan or the summer.

Assuming he keeps playing well, there is ZERO chance of us signing him. He will be at Utd next season.

End of (I think the saying is!)
This. Similar situation to Jonny Evans'

Jonny Evans situation all over again. As long as Danny does the biz whilst playing here i wont be bothered where hes at next season. (but it would be nice to keep hold of him haha)

I suppose you can twist this around to fit your opinion as much as you like.
On the one hand when he has been played in his favoured position he has scored goals, which I am more than happy with.
On the other hand Fergie isn't an idiot, he will see what he is currently doing and either want him back, inflate the fee OR perhaps having bought Hernandez in the summer will be prepared to sell him come May.
My belief is this kid is a good prospect, maybe just not a top 4 player. At the same time though paying Gyan money would be crazy, I wouldn't pay more than £8 millon for him.
Having said that I hope that SAFC have got first refusal should they decide to sell him.

That's one of the consequences of these damned discussion forums.

We'd love him to stay, but how much will it cost now to buy him?
Dinna Steve! Why don't you ask Fergie, on the quiet, instead of indirectly in an interview?

Fergie will do a similar deal to that Italian gadgie he let go....
