Bruce's big mistake tonight

Aye Hedo ran out of steam but Catts died off the last half hour and even bolo started to look sluggish.
Steed never really got into the game.
Mind we were playing a good team tonight imo.

I was very surprised he didn't start with Elmohamedy.

Unfortunately I wasn't surprised. He's a tendency to not change things after a good performance. Not something I agree with personally. Bardsley as an example... Few steady eddie games and suddenly he's automatic choice despite fact it gives us problem with lack of balance or attacking threat down left which at home is often very much needed

OP is right, should have replaced Zenden and Hendo at the same time.

With all the Long Ball Shite we were playing, Elmo should have been on sooner.

I think he should have sold Bent at half time, flown in a top class surgeon and got Gyan out there on for the second half.

We almost scored from the very first header Elmo won, was surprised he got so little time up against Baines.

You'd think why all the recent hype the lad would be full of confidence, but he rarely seemed to want to do anything with the ball tonight. It was all short passes and standing too close to Cattemole. When he was closing down he didn't get in anyones face.

Great post, Jordon looked busted.

Zenden and Jordon should have come off together, Steed was a by-stander on the right, he played much better when he switched to the left, nearly scored.

I'd have taken a point before the game, obviously wanted a win but given our record against the Toffee's it was a good point.

He played 90 mins for England on Wed, and IIRC he's played every game this season. Nee wonder he's running low on fatigue, possibly rest him on Sat.

fuck mes a pro footballer 19/20 yr old

he cud play 24/7
tonight he was playin SHIT and a manager shud realise that early doors and sub him

fatigue my arse

Despite the two sublime passes that played in Bent and Welbeck.

Henderson is 20 years old and as fit as a lop.
He played a gáme last Wednesday and one again last night.

How the fuck can he be knackered???

I agree, he was though.

Catts was getting back to his best last night as well.

Maybe more mentally drained than physically. He's had a fuck of a lot to deal with in the last few weeks, needs to freshen up a bit.

He was too slow in changing things. We had an undeserved lead, and Everton were dominating. Something had to be changed, but he did nothing until they equalised.

For me, Elmohamady should have come on about 15 minutes earlier in order to give us an outlet. We couldn't keep possession, so having his pace and running would have taken pressure off of us, and put it on to them.

Plus he is good in the air, and a better target for our goal kicks than Bent is. Richardson should have come off for him, with steed moving to the left.

Henderson should have been taken off way sooner than he was. The lad was knackered and having an awful game (not a criticism of him, he's young and will have them).

Should have happened after about 60 mins, but waited till Everton scored before doing it.

Still a great point against a very good side - Sunderland of old would have lost that comfortably.

Aye, when there was a stop in play you could see that henderson was kanackered, should of come off at least after our second goal....

But could of gone to either side right at the end !

Hopefully bramble and gyan back in the team for saturday...

Who should have played in the middle instead?

Agreed about the right hand side and baines. He has set up the majority of cahill's headed goals so that threat should had been known by the management. Was hick far too much space.

Don’t agree with those saying Richardson had a poor game. I’m not a fan generally, but I thought a lot of our best play came through him last night.

Problem for me was Piennar became the most influential player in the game in the second half, and we didn’t get close to him (and Baines) on our right hand side. Bruce was slow to react to this. Personally I would have switched Richardson across to our right to early in the second half (Bardo, in the form of his life, could easily cope with Coleman on the left). Then swap Zenden for Malbranque with Steed on the left. That was the change for me.
