I'm used to it, i've been getting eaten alive at any point i've made that hasn't been slagging Bruce off.
I forgot we're used to having Ferguson in charge and winning the leage every year!
Bent had big questions against him when we signed him ........ I don't think anyone expected him to get 20 goals every season if we're being honest.
I'm ready to get slated for this, but i honestly think Bruce is been giving a very hard time over alot of things which aren't his fault.
Bent went for daft money in January, something Bruce had no control over as our club isn't big enough to turn down those sort of offers. He then gambled on not diving in and getting someone that wasn't going to fit in the club, he still had Welbeck, Gyan and Campbell just weeks away from match fitness.
We obviously know what happened next and the Bruce gamble didn't pay off, fair enough, i would have done the same thing.
The last few weeks of the season when Sess went up front, we seen a different player and a one that was starting to score, then against West Ham with him and Gyan they clicked and looked very good together.
Bruce then obviously thought we had a very good pair in Sess and Gyan, so didn't need to spend big over the summer on a forward. He however bought one of the hottest prospects in English football in Wickham, a player we would have only dreamed of signing.
When he saw Sess and Gyan wasn't working at the start of the season, he brought in Bendtner to help us along. I don't think anyone can argue that Gyan, Bendtner, Sess and Wickham wasn't a decent strike force and we couldn't be happy with it.
Then once again out of Bruce's hands Gyan left, which left us in the mire. Bruce threw in Wickham and that started to look like we finally had a decent strikeforce and Sess fit in perfectly on the left, our results picked up. Wickham then got injured, not Bruce's fault and we're left with just one up front again.
Basically the whole point of my article is that we've just been extremely unlucky with personnel and injuries. We've got the making of a good team, looking solid at the back, Sess can clearly do a job on the left, we just need Wickham back or even Campbell and we'll be absolutely fine.
If Wickham had played on Sat and Seb we'd have beat Fulham easily and it would have been a totally different picture this week!
Just give Bruce time to build his team, we will come good!
However i think bringing in Bendtner and Wickham are two excellent signings and had the club held onto Gyan, we wouldn't even be having this conversation now as we'd be in a much healthier position.
Onouha and mensah weren't our players and da silva couldn't hack the premier league so how on earth are they better than brown, o'shea, turner, bramble?

Ha! Ha! Heard that so many times over the years....it's the substance that matters. The 'makings of' is meaningless and can be said for almost any team at any time.
Can we blame bad luck for everything in 2011?
If you count those as not our players as they were on loan, then how do you count bendtner as part of the supposed better squad now?
I don't think he did tbh. He was a proven striker, capable of getting 15 to 20 premiership goals. He had and has shortcomings in his game that have always been there, but spurs had more talented players capable of doing what they wanted.
His goal record there was quite good, his goals to minutes was very impressive, but he just never really fitted in with what they expect from a spurs player.
Spot on.
And it certainly seems so - I don't even know why we bother with a manager after reading this thread. I'm not even sure why we play games in the premiership as apparently It's too much to expect beating the likes of fulham when were at home and they have a terrible away record, or a struggling villa side or anyone else for that matter. It's ok to just turn up, support them and watch them fail.

When he took over we had finished on 36 points and were extremely lucky to stay up.

How dare you sit down and compose a well thought out and IMHO, true reflection of the situation at the club. This forum is definitely not the place for that sort of nonsense. You didn't include the phrase 'Bruce out' anywhere in your assessment. The best place for this sort of drivel is the Parsnip.
Please don't give the people who mainly make up this forum the added stress of having to analyse what you are saying, before they might possibly come to a sound and well balanced opinion on things.![]()
