Bruce hard done by

I dont know what to think anymore, sensible post like. I'd just sack the **** anyway for his own good and we need refreshing

I reckon a decent manager would have argued that bent should have been given a payrise. If it was 25k a week thats about £1.3m,which is fuck all against all the money spunked on shite by him and others over the years.
At least we would have known what we were getting, and the transfer fee doesnt give us much profit anyway, what have we got for that £1.3 m ,an unknown Korean!

What facts to back up Bruce are you talking about Riv?

There's a few facts against him. Not sure which ones support him..

Like the Wickham injury, mate, as an example ..... we've had some killer blows, regarding strikers, to deal with such as Jones, Bent, Gyan Campbell, Wickham, Welbeck etc.

Not all injuries but not all Bruce's fault either. Most clubs would have struggled to cope and we've struggled, no doubt about it.

Welbeck looks indestructable now doesn't he?

what does my head in is people wanting sunderland to do badly so they can hope for bruce to go.

The grass in not always greener and footy isn't like it is on Fifa'12. We don't know what goes on and what restricitions bruce has. Crouch wouldn't come here because his lass didn't like the north - nowt we can do about that.

We've no right to be in the premiership and we spent the majority of my life bouncing between the top and second tiers, yet we suddenly think we must be above the mags and pushing for europe when only 5 years ago we were getting beat of bury with one of the worst squads in my memory.

Our home fans are dreadful, quiet and dead quick to get on both the teams back and bruces, away fans are different gravy.

Out of the side last season though we had 5 players on loan, all which neded replacing. Then given the number of injuries we got hit with AFTER January, it was obvious we needed more squad players in. We were fielding a bench at times with 4 or 5 youth players in. That is not a position any premiership club should be in.

I thikn it's safe to say also that he has brought in 3 quality players all from Champions League teams in Brown, O'Shea and Bendtner.

Some people need to get a grip like and realise just how far we've come in 5 years, do people want us to do a Leeds or something? F*cking hoenstly man, there some right clueless f*cks out there!

And you might just win the prize for the clueless f*ck of the year or are you happy to see the team grind out thrilling 0-0s against a bottom half team and see 2 wins in god knows how long at home??

Ok, some of the issues with playing staff have been unexpected and little Bruce could do about them, but there are two glaring issues which are difficult to defend. Squad balance and tactics.

It was clear last season (and infact since Keane took over) that we did not have enough defenders. We lost two, bought two and lost one. He has left us with a very small number of defenders and as injuries mount up we could be back to Elmo and Richardson as fullbacks. I fear this is really going to come back and haunt us.

Tactics. Who knows what Bruce will do next? 4-5-1 has not been working yet he persists with it. We had a couple of games at 4-4-2 and picked up points. Now we are back to defending deep and hoping to nick one. For some of that time, Sess was played up front on his own. It is clear to all around he is dangerous in midfield but anonymous as a lone 'striker'. Brighton was the worst, playing with no strikers at all.

So Bruce has poor tactics, can't change it when it is going wrong or waits until far too late in the game, has brought in many players yet we still have no depth in major parts of the squad. If he can't do the off-pitch properly and gets the on-pitch wrong, why is he still here?

Who made that decision?

Dont forget though "we're the same team that finished tenth last season, and you dont turn into a bad manager overnight and lets not forget we're just sunderland, we're not Man United we shouldnt get above ourselves!"

Which wise sage said these words

But when you look at the team he took over, it was a dreadful squad, we didn't have the best starting 11 and absolutely no cover at all.
Yet that dreadful squad survived twice in the Premier League, under apparently worse managers than Bruce. Bruce's starting position at Sunderland was alot better than alot seem to think. How many players has he brought since then?

Who made that decision?
last season when people criticised this, people supporting it were saying it was beneficial to test what the players are like, before we buy. It is amazing more clubs don't do it if thats the case.

I must admit I am curious as to whether those using that as an excuse for under performance this season are the same ones defending the decision last year.

May I be the first to say: utter bollocks. Bruce is the luckiest manager in the premiership by far: great chairman, financially supportive owner, big crowds of passionate, knowledgeable supporters and - most importantly - at least 4 other teams in the division worse than his team.
:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Half of the daft ***** don't even know the offside rule man, ask them to spell a players name and they are fucked.

We showed promise when he went 2 up front, looked like given a good run the team could gel and we had a bit of a goal threat. Whickham got injured and his bottle went and reverts back to his beloved 451. Ji could quite easily of came in and done a job until Whickham came back. But no 1st chance to build any momentum he changes things.

Well argued. Striker bad luck? Maybe, but he has picked Bent and Gyan so no judge of character then? Wickham injury, yes, but by his own admission, not slated to be a front line player for us this season. Gardner? Bruce picked him, and he is the one not picking him for the team, so he has to carry the can for that surely? Vaughan? Same. The biggest killer through is the tactics point made above. Without Bent, where our tactics were all based around getting the ball to him quick, we don't seem to have a coherent plan at all, except keep passing.

Our passing for sure is better than it was, but to what good? No idea really what to do, not real movement or invention in the last third. Noble and Wickham are the only ones to put some effort into making space by moving, but nobody is really looking for them, unless they run towards them.

But to get back to the point, Bruce hard done by? No way. 3 long winless runs isn't bad luck (except for us).

Ji had just travelled half way round the world 2 or 3 days earlier, so would have been in no fit state to play. Look at what happened for his country when he played so soon after travelling, he got took off at half time.

I really think Bruce's hand was forced on sat to play 4-5-1 rather than playing it through choice.

We also were missing Seb on Saturday as he offers us alot more than Elmo does. I honeslty believe we'll turn the corner sooner rather than later and put a few good results together.

We were missing two players and that meant we had to change the system. Doesn't appear to be much planning gone into that.

My major problem with Bruce is there doesn't seem to be any method to his decisions, no master plan, just a collection of players.

Yep, they are like peices of a jigsaw and if they dont fit, he hammers them in till they do fit (but by that time the pieces are squashed and useless).
