at which point the damage is done and we'll be as good as down

i'm hoping OP isn't on a large fishing trip here... i'm starting to hope he's not telling tall tales

Sacking him this soon after letting him acquire a whole new side would make Quinn / Short look more clueless than Bruce is making himself look. Never in a million years would Quinn / Short act is such an unprofessional and panicky way. Once you commit to a manager making wholesale changes in the summer you have to let his new team settle and than means 12-14 games : December.

By which time you could be pretty much relegated.

My understanding is that club officials are with ES in London today. Can't tell you how I know that.

Each person's choice as to whether they believe this or not. Simply sharing due to the angst and level of unhappiness on here and in the wider SAFC community.

so who was disgusted then?

Doesnt Elliss Shorts son go to school in Chelsea?
Doesnt Elliss Short have other business interests in london?

Hardly out of the ordinary, that he'd spend time there?

Spotted Quinn on the train this morning travelling from Norwich into London, maybe he stayed over to persuade Paul Lambert to come across.

i'm not so sure. the real damage is home form, which is pretty horrific. pissing off your home fans is cancer for any manager. short is a man who i believe will only accept so much failure before he will act. if the rumors are true and the Sunderland brand is being heavily developed in Asia, how can that strategy have any chance of succeeding by being built on a team which is woefully underperforming and a on field product that is difficult to watch/support for the local die hards let alone some korean who would rather buy a man u or liverpool shirt.

its a case of when rather than if. bruce looks like a man out of options and time running out for him

Entirely agree that Bruce is underperforming given the resources at his disposal and the fact that he's finally arrived at a "big club". I think he's been given a fair crack of the whip by Quinn / Short and they obviously had complete faith in him when they let him rebuild the squad just a few
weeks ago. I'm sure Bruce knows that he has to deliver by the end of this season. I think he's probably safe in his job until then unless he loses the home crowd or we get rooted in the drop zone ( not sure which would come first )

it ain't going to happen soon, unfortunatley Bruce keeps putting himself underpressure, one good result followed 2 bad results. It appears that he is trying his hardest to lose his job

take last night, we never looked like scoring in the first half so instead of changing things at half time or even when we go two goals down, he waits until 20mins from time to change things around. Even I could see after 20 mins of that game that the starting 11 was not going score..............

sort it out Brucey, you making right f***ing hash of things.

No disrespect but one knows how our leader wants to play this. We shall suck it & see...

It's actually a testament to the gullibility on here that some people still believe this "itk" shite about secret meetings and new signings and new managers etc.

After all the drivel of the last few months, I'm actually flabbergasted.

From what I can tell, Carlos is convinced theres a meeting. Beyond that, its just guess-work.

Well, I have nothing to offer except wild and uninformed speculation - like most on here - but I'll join in and have a go, all the same.

I think we've all got the impression that Ellis Short will make the decisions hard and fast when required to do so. But I also believe that having a 'football' man at the helm means he will listen to a football opinion.

And that opinion will probably point out that buying a whole new team and then sacking the man who brought them 6 games later makes no sense. He will rightly refer to finding a blend, form and confidence. He could ask for more time to be given for his charge.

Where the argument is against Bruce is in the area's we all know about... he's failed to inspire any loyalty & trust from 2 of our most influential players, Bent & Gyan.... he's failed to replace Bent & fill other key positions....he shows no ability in turning things round when its going wrong... in fact, he sounds like a man who doesn't BELIEVE he can turn things around..

..... and, most damning of all, he appears unable to motivate a team of players who are entirely here on his, very recent, say so. Those are things SNQ will struggle to cover over

I personally think that there's a clock ticking somewhere in ES's office and its linked to Bruce's future. If I was Bruce I'd be worried about the international break but I actually believe he'll get, at least, until the Villa game. Wouldn't it be ironic if Bent got him the sack?

Where we really should be worried is the knock-on effect on Quinny. I fear that if he tries to defend Bruce he will undermine his own position. Quinny has a vision for the club and if Short loses faith in his ability to deliver it we may find we are supporting a very different club. It might not be for the better.

Careful what you wish for, lads & lasses

I've got it on good knowledge that your flabber isn't actually gasted and that you actually just suffered a minor headache caused by moderate head to desk contact shortly after reading this post and all its replies.

Gone after the WBA game, if we win he may just survive to the next game, either way its when not if, another season wasted already mr Quinn/Short.

And you wonder why nee fucker turns up.

You're almost correct. It's more like neck trauma from repeatedly throwing my head back to laugh at how much stock *some* people put in this kind of shit.

I'm also heartened by the healthy levels of indifference to the OP, though :p

Too true mate......i'm just raking a few pennies together to have a bet with William Hill.....7/2 available.

I honestly hadn't seen this thread, when I went out for a quick beer at tea-time.
But coincidentally ....
Here ye gan.

Had looked at the prices lastnight.
Was sitting in the boozer, looking out the window at Hill's.
The place was shouting at me, "Come in, come in" :-D

Since he has been here all of his policies and tactics have all resulted in failure.
Why should things change?

You're probably right.
But when you get the odd genuine ITK coming along every so often, they sharp get banned.

One came on recently.
AFTER the window shut, AFTER the Turkish window shut, he came on here and started a thread.

'Gyan is Off tomorrow'.
'Make of it what you will, but it's a certain fact'.

Got dog's abuse.
Banned and thread pulled.

Next day the word on the street is Gyan is off. (And he was).

Where the fuck would somebody pull that one from? A hat?
Why would anybody make that up. Where would they get inspiration for such a seemingly tall story?
He HAD to have known something.

Well he's gone now, so the 'supply line' has been cut.
The Golden Goose of info, banned for stating facts

There are itk's on here whose word has been spot on, eerily so, and well before anything was revealed elsewhere
